It's okay, but I just didn't feel like the direction of the story was very good. I dropped it at chapter 17 after the protagonist started having money fall into his lap and a side character I just didn't care about got added. So the protagonist has a system that gives him powers and resources depending on how many good deeds he's done. I found that dumping a million dollars a month on the protagonist through this system to be really boring. Because now I have to read about him spending money on random things. And also because you started the story off with the protagonist as an underdog, now you are just dropping things into his lap. Sorry, but 16 chapters of buildup just fell flat. I didn't care for the side characters either. The protagonist has no idea what he's doing, I don't feel like a disciple is a good fit. Like I don't want to hear conversations about getting the disciple clothed, showered, and sheltered. I hate idle chit chat that doesn't advance the plot and the disciple is turning into a chatter box. Finally, I think you revealed too much by telling us what the power scale is. How the final hero had achieved something like 200 points before dying. I'm already unsure about weather your power system is going to make any sense. I don't need something to compare the protagonist to at this point.

Certainly, not every story is for everyone, and I'm sorry that it wasn't to your liking. That being said, I am very thankful that you took the time to leave this review and including your reasoning, as that is very valuable information for me as an author if I am to ever improve. I'd like to take a moment to address some of the concerns you had, while it won't necessarily change your opinion, I'd like any other potential readers to have information that may change their potential minds, even if it wouldn't change yours; While Lucas is going to spend some time thinking/acting like he is rich, the next day (which admittedly is like 30+ chapters later) he gets a dose of reality and finds out... It isn't anywhere near as much as he thought it was, even with it repeating monthly. Jonathan has a lot of emotional baggage right now, between abandonment issues and social anxiety, as well as the resulting offshooting problems of OCD, codependency issues, his stutter, and more. If you don't care for him as a character, that's fine, again, not everything is for everyone. But honestly, it's not quite right to call him a disciple either, if anything he's more reliable than the MC. He's going to overcome a lot of his hangups over time, but that will be years in-novel time. It's a bit of an up-and-down in terms of him being an underdog, as the money isn't the only time he'll think he's shot up ahead, but the world is going to remind him repeatedly that it's still not even enough to merely survive, let alone prosper. If anything, Lucas is the disciple, lol. Unfortunately, as the story had fallen into being a bit of a slice of life, there is a lot of everyday things that are going to go on, and this is probably the main point that even if other issues being addressed has you consider giving the story another shot, probably would be the main hangup for you. There isn't any empty small talk, but there is a large amount of character interactions, whether it is just reinforcing their personalities, seeing their reactions to certain scenarios, or just to provide a natural flow towards the next scene. But yes, some characters are chatterboxes, lol. One is so much so that I actually don't bother showing his exact dialogue, and just describe the gist of it. Part of the quantity of daily details/interactions is in part to bury the sheer amount of foreshadowing that is being laid out, whether for short term or long term. If everything that was described was a Chekov's shotgun, then it would be too easy to guess some of the things that are going to occur since there was a clear line of leadup pointing right at it. That being said, I understand there is a bit of bloat as I experiment with the balance of obscuring details so they aren't too obvious without going overboard. I'll be the first to admit this novel would have a lot of trimming if I was, say, making a printed version rather than something I toss up a chapter for daily. Stating the numerical power scaling of the last hero was more to serve as contrast to demonstrate the rate of GDV gains in the present-day world versus what it was like back in the day, with a touch of 427 just wanting to brag. The power system as it stands; there are 15 system-capable enhancements, and each one has 10 ranks, each successive rank having diminishing returns as to the gains given. It would take 745 GDV to max everything, which is pointedly not feasible. Thanks to the amount of natural mutations that the system cannot replicate, however, there will always be things he can't simply overpower by sheer points.

I'd dropped reading this comment after you said that the next day would be after 30 chapter, and have zero interest in reading this Novel after you to long stupid comment, even though I was about to give the novel a chance even after reading the review
