Review Detail of Linpeiqi_22 in The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Usually I don’t leave reviews, but I felt compelled to for this particular story because there was one major concern I had after reading some of the chapters: There are pieces of dialogue and elements that have been taken directly from a book titled Ruthless People by J.J. McAvoy. For people who don’t know, Ruthless People is also a mafia-themed romance where the two main leads, Melody Giovanni (Xin Zhenyi’s counterpart) and Liam Callahan (Long Jie’s), come from enemy groups—one being from the Irish mob and the other the Italian mafia. They’re both heirs/leaders of their respective crime organizations and enter into an arranged marriage set up by their fathers. I thought the premise sounded familiar but what cemented it for me was the conversation between Xin Zhenyi and her subordinate about Long Jie’s cousin’s wife. When he equated her to mother Theresa due to her obsessive philanthropy, I instantly remembered that that line was said to Melody in Ruthless People to describe Liam’s cousin’s wife as well. As I read further, I recognized a lot more of the dialogue, especially the conversation between the two fathers in regard to their children’s marriage. I don’t know if the author has credited Ruthless People throughout the story in their author comments, but I hope it is done to give credit where it’s due because it’s unfair to the original author and source material (even though it isn’t that great, lol 😂).
