After a while, he immediately notices that he has a system that gives him some choices on how to act in certain situations. Obviously, all of the choices represent a certain level of risk, and hint at future events that could happen. Quickly, our protagonist learns that choosing the option with the greatest reward simultaneously exposes him to the greatest level of risk, and might even lead to his death. Therefore, he decides that choosing the option with the lowest reward, which happens to gift attribute/skill points, is the best choice moving forward. ... So far he's only been picking the attribute options, and he goes out of his way to make the choices trigger to reap the greatest reward while avoiding danger. I think in the future after he attains more power, he might be able to handle the consequences of choosing the more dangerous options, but we will have to see. Now for the pros and cons of you want to decide to read this novel (just read it!); Pros: 1. A good premise that doesn't make him instantly op like some novels, but provides him with opportunities to get stronger. This makes development smooth instead of abrupt, and provides good pacing and motivation for the protagonist. 2. A smart MC that thinks through every situation logically. You won't see anything about beating up young masters, our MC knows how to avoid trouble. 3. Because our MC avoids trouble, most of our antagonists aren't brain dead young masters, and have some degree of intellect. Take this one with a grain of salt though, because the main antagonists are entirely avoided due to the system's help. Cons: 1. We have no way of tracking what rewards he has gotten. This would be a big problem in most novels, but here we're more concerned about MC's thinking so I can forgive this. 2. The cultivation system is weird. The initial stage of cultivation is Qi Gathering, but after that is some Mystic Realm stuff that isn't clearly explained. Anyways, I hope you give this one a try. Have a nice day!
