another typical chinese mc he is born vampire but to save a human woman and her daughter(total strangers btw) he went on to offend the strongest existence in the vampiric rmpire when he himself was weak and a vampire? its not like the vampires treated him badly or bullied him nah he saw a woman in trouble and his chinese morals took over this story would have been so much better if he just minded his own fricking business

It is not a big problem if he helped but the problem is they gave him a useless help and put his self into trouble. This is the thing that annoyed me

you make it sound like Chinese are moral, some may be but most are not, they just mind their business in real life.

i did not mean it in real life i meant in xianxia or wuxia sense where almost all generic chinese mc save the jade beauties who try to kill them and invite bigger trouble upon themselves.

If I remember right typical Chinese protagonists don't help strangers, It's already nice if they don't kill them for loot. And that thing about jade beauties you mentioned is a years old cliche that Chinese authors are trying to break. It has been long time since I saw it.

no such thing as "chinese moral"

this is over exaggerated jeez, it's not even that bad, it's just a way how the author wants to start a conflict for the mc's growth, obviously. everyone has morals in their times, its just about if you'll act on it, only cowards wouldn't understand.

most harem novel protagonists do save the stranger(if its a beautiful girl) and then offend someone strong behind the scenes. i get that it might not be a problem for most readers its just that if you are put in that situation would you offend a strong person for a total stranger knowing you have no backing and it could possibly kill you and your loved ones? i wouldn't. and the jade beauty was just a synonym for beautiful women it still happens btw. then again everyone has their preference i just gave the review so that people who are like me who don't like such protagonists wouldn't waste their time.

It's a little understandable why he would want to save the mother/daughter pair. He went through a traumatic event in his life, and he wants to save that from happening to the mother and daughter he met, though I think he is a little ret*rted as well, because an ordinary person would just either help the vampires (since MC is a Vampire) or just ignore the mother/daughter.

he would sound like a dick if he didnt do anything tho. goes right against characterisation?

I don't think this novel deserves 5 stars, but I'm giving it that because people are being childish and giving the novel 1 star because they don't like the MC not being evil or not being smart(Yeah I'm also being childish, ironic isn't it?). It's always the same old crap when a non-human protagonist isn't absolute evil. Anyway.. The plot is really forced, and the power scaling is kinda rushed. Immediate power ups in the first few chapters, the kind of power ups that would take like 60 chapters or so for the average xianxia protagonist to get. I can tell by this that either the story won't last long or the author will have to add a lot of bs to have more chapters. The protagonist is pretty naive as well, and stupid sometimes. I don't really care about this, I even like it a bit, but a lot of readers dislike dumb protagonists. Oh, his moral compass is also pretty good, which the author takes advantage of so he can start crappy troupes like helping random beautiful girls in danger. The world building is nice, I found the world he is staying a little interesting, although it isn't that original. Anyways, if you came here expecting some Vampire Lord stuff with the MC growing stronger and raising a army of vampires so he can take over the world, this novel really isn't it. It has the same old cliches Chinese novels have, the plot is forced, the power ups are rushed, at least in the start. I don't think this novel will ever be chosen since it has nearly everything mainstream readers here dislike, but I still found it somewhat interesting. It's nice to pass time, unless you are one of those guys who really hate goody-two shoes protagonist and JP novels. Then you will deeply dislike this novel, you probably won't get past chapter 20.

On top of that, Wang Wei was not one of the chosen few of this world that was granted special gifts by Heaven, thus further aggravating his circumstances. This story has a similar setting as Emperor Dominion, I am a True Villain, and Scoring the Sacred Body of the Ancients from the Get-go. If you enjoy this type of story, then you will enjoy my story. The first 30 chapters or so have many problems story-wise, so please bear with it as I was just beginning as a writer. However, I promise the story gets better afterward.
