another typical chinese mc he is born vampire but to save a human woman and her daughter(total strangers btw) he went on to offend the strongest existence in the vampiric rmpire when he himself was weak and a vampire? its not like the vampires treated him badly or bullied him nah he saw a woman in trouble and his chinese morals took over this story would have been so much better if he just minded his own fricking business

LIKEi did not mean it in real life i meant in xianxia or wuxia sense where almost all generic chinese mc save the jade beauties who try to kill them and invite bigger trouble upon themselves.
If I remember right typical Chinese protagonists don't help strangers, It's already nice if they don't kill them for loot. And that thing about jade beauties you mentioned is a years old cliche that Chinese authors are trying to break. It has been long time since I saw it.
most harem novel protagonists do save the stranger(if its a beautiful girl) and then offend someone strong behind the scenes. i get that it might not be a problem for most readers its just that if you are put in that situation would you offend a strong person for a total stranger knowing you have no backing and it could possibly kill you and your loved ones? i wouldn't. and the jade beauty was just a synonym for beautiful women it still happens btw. then again everyone has their preference i just gave the review so that people who are like me who don't like such protagonists wouldn't waste their time.
It's a little understandable why he would want to save the mother/daughter pair. He went through a traumatic event in his life, and he wants to save that from happening to the mother and daughter he met, though I think he is a little ret*rted as well, because an ordinary person would just either help the vampires (since MC is a Vampire) or just ignore the mother/daughter.
he would sound like a dick if he didnt do anything tho. goes right against characterisation?
