This is going to be a long review. I've read up until around chapter 230, but I'm going to need a break from the story because it has gotten a bit too repetitive for a while. The story is about how the MC was able to go back in time, right before this VR game opened and used his knowledge of the future to obtain an extremely OP class and items. He manages to avoid the tragedies that would happen to his family... but also ends up causing a bunch of unforeseen events to happen that turn Earth (and the VR world) upside down, I'll leave what happens as a secret ;). I think the world and the events that happen in it, are pretty interesting, but the issue comes from the daily life of our MC. I'm still kind of having a hard time understanding what kind of person the MC is even when I'm 200 chapters in. At first, you get the impression that he is this softy that loves and cares about his family since he does his best to help them avoid their future tragedies, but once he accomplishes this he kind of says "peace, I've got things to do" and can be a huge dick to his family. I understand that in the story, it mentions that he is pretty much a control freak and manipulator, sure, but the way he acts can be weird nonetheless. He sometimes says things like "I will do my best to help the innocent!", but then proceeds to slaughter everyone in sight because he wants to protect his secret since he doesn't want to be inconvenienced. If he helps strangers it is like pulling nails and only because someone he cares about begged him. Sure, I get it, he doesn't have to help anyone if he doesn't want to (as he mentions many times throughout the story), but still weird. He also jumps the gun and invites a girl he randomly interacted with for 5 minutes to travel with him on his super dangerous journey because he wanted a traveling companion. She does end up becoming his love interest, but spoiler, she has a tragic backstory, and he also has a lot of trouble opening up and being interested in romance... well... it took like a week for him to go from "we shouldn't do anything romantic which each other, we're both not ready for this" to "we love each other very much, and we're both ready for sex". I totally got tsundere vibes from him. I still like the love interest as a whole, and I think she's an interesting character. These next points are what I think really drags down the story. Travel time from point A to point B. Unfortunately the author makes traveling from one place to another take 10+ chapters each time... which usually goes something like "MC and person wake up, wiping the gunk out of their eyes, they giggle, eat meat, MC kneels down so person can get on his back, he then flies at XXX speed for 14 hours straight, of course, remembering to faithfully check his stats and quest progress that haven't changed for the past 10 chapters. Getting from one main event to another just takes so long and we have to keep reading a repetition of the same events over and over, sure, he does talk to his companion every once in a while and has interactions with her, but man, so little happens during those times that I feel tempted to just skip through it. Once we get to the actual events... they're usually over super fast. This is due to the MC either being so OP everything just explodes into dust in a blink of an eye or surrenders because they know he is too strong... or he is way too weak and can't really do anything by himself. It is hard to feel much tension since it doesn't feel like he really struggles against anything. Stat Dumps and Fillers The amount of times I've seen the MC's stats makes me want to rip out my hair. Every chapter, we see the MCs overpowered stats of billions of health/mana, thousands of stat points, endless list of skills and their description, the progress of all his quests and their descriptions... for no real reason. The stats don't really mean anything. When he had like 2K life, he was already 2-shotting people with millions. The author at least did us the favor of removing the -80000, -80000, -80000 damage text that took up several lines of how he just beat monsters into submission. But being constantly subjected to pointless Stat dumps and quest progress that sometimes doesn't change for 10+ chapters is annoying, I simply scroll past it because the numbers don't mean anything, and we're simply seeing the same text over and over again. This directly ties into the second part of this... filler. Chapter prices are based on word count, and from the way the author writes (and has explicitly stated himself), seems that he is purposely repeating these things that absolutely no-one wants to see, to fill the word requirements. There was one chapter where he straight up mentioned that the chapter was going to be all filler, and it was basically just filled with repeated stat dumps repeatedly. We are also subjected to constantly seeing the same author note at the beginning of the chapter (over several chapters), which pretty much just cuts into the chapter word count. Last is the quality of writing, often times a completely wrong word is used in a sentence, sure, you can quickly figure out what the proper word is supposed to be, but simply throwing the text into Word would surely show the amount of things that don't make sense and punctuations that are missing. Also just out of curiosity, I decided to look at the latest chapter (372), we are blessed with a 180 word stat dump at the end of each chapter... This is about 150 chapters from where I'm currently at. The MC has only leveled up 6 times during this time, so it really makes you wonder, what's the point of the stat dump when all the values practically stay the same the whole time? Do we really care that he has 5 dried rations in his inventory?

Huh, I think my review was too long so it got cut off near the end... To finish up what I was saying at the end : This is about 150 chapters from where I'm currently at. The MC has only leveled up 6 times during this time, so it really makes you wonder, what's the point of the stat dump when all the values practically stay the same the whole time?
