I am sharing your opinion as well. He's clearly copying other author's work and added a few additions to make it different but unfortunately it cannot. Author, if you're reading this, take the advice and develop your own story instead stealing.

I am not sure reading the new chapter he is trying to take the fanfic in a different direction but it also looks like he wants to end this fanfic quickly so there are chances of him leaving it.
