It's not a harem. The romance does play a pretty big role, but not until much later on.

Also what is the main character’s moral compass? Does he trust people easily? Who is he willing to kill to get to his goal? How reliant is he on his companions? I’m just asking cause I’m curious. if you don’t want to answer them than it’s fine.

The MC's moral compass is actually one of his strongest points. He is fairly quick to trust others, sometimes to his own downfall. The moral ramifications of taking a human life is actually discussed (albeit only for a moment) in one of the early-ish chapters. Relying on friends plays a huge role from day one. I hope this answers your questions.
