I honestly don't get what you mean here. Like there are many things you could take into account when saying what you did and even when you say it's not cause of romance most of the negative reviews on this novel popped up when the pairing happened so I honestly don't believe that it's cause of something else. The personality complaint makes no sense cause MC is mostly reasonable, or as reasonable as you can be in a xianxia world. It's impossible to act like a modern man in a xianxia world unless you want to die or stick out, at least until you overpower everyone. About looking for flaws in beauties makes no sense again since Yufeng is a beauty in her own right. His opinions on the others are reasonable, otherwise just liking them on first impression would be infatuation or a simple crush, which him not having and having a more stable outlook on things is expected due to his past life age and experiences. So no matter what you say it just seems you being pissed at pairing cause I can't see how you described what happened in the novel as reasonable.
