Sometimes I wonder if these authors research for their books or just harp on without any knowledge of the subject matter. Children are the most innocent thing especially at their beginning stage. No matter how terrible a mother is, I find it very difficult to believe that the kid will be calling her by her name instead of aunty or something else. And a four year old is not matured enough to be having these kinds of ***** conversations. You don’t need to have a kid to know one, just read up about them or go babysit one. A four year old does not care about how the parents are feeling about each other especially when the said parents are not even in his life together. So much contradictions in the book. Either the author forgot the outline of the book or just freestyled it.

LIKEyep, it's even worse in other novels with 2 or 3 year olds having full dialogue conversations ... some 3 year olds may be building sentences but poorly, but a 2year old is just starting to potty train and no way is full sentence a concept they grasp in communicating (usually basic sentences picked up, like I want 'that' or I don't want to rather that able to carry full conversation). I don't care if author wants the kid to be near genius from birth or what. the only time i accept is narrative is if a full adult reborn into infancy so mentally they are capable but overcoming physical limits from young to growing up. Some authors don't seem full out ignorant of designing kid characters but vast majority on WN seem to depict young kids will unbelievable mentalities. heck, for research they could watch any of the multiple live stream or niche reality shows where they have little kids go buy soy sauce or first time going to school to grasp what an average baby can do or act like.
