LIKEIt was assumed that if he had occlumency no one should enter his mental landscape, but Merlin did, the truth is I do not like that at all but I would have to continue reading the novel to give a review so I did not say anything, but the truth is what happened with Merlin going into his dreams and seeing his memories made me quit the novel, I'm going to wait until there are more 5 or 4 star reviews to read this
Kokushibou:I don't understand, can you please explain what you didn't like. So i can see if i want to read this ff or not, honestly the author should delete this useless review.image
I see, now i understand. Thank's im not gonna read this then, i hate this type of forced plot. Or call it plot-convenience, i don't really care.

Occlumency creates a passive barrier that protects the mind, so it would be impossible to verify a protected mind through dreams. If a person can still dream after organizing his mind and protecting it to the point that he can "block" his emotions if he makes the effort, then there is no reason to practice such a difficult technique with an easily accessible violation.
blueDaoist:I have a question does Occlumency protect your dreams as well cause from what I have read Merlin could only get into his head when he is asleep.
But you're forgetting that when Occlumency is in use the user is awake is passively supplying the shield with magical energy. There was never a use cause where the user was asleep when the Occlumency is in use. Also, there is something we are forgetting we are dealing with Merlin here; fate version of Merlin but it still Merlin. Merlin is an incubus and master of dream magic. Therefore he could bypass it. Also do know that even Occlumency could be bypassed if the one doing the bypass knows what he/she is doing. Also when Merlin entered his mind the user wasn't a master of Occlumency.

Occlumency uses magic passively and does not need to be awake for Occlumency to work, as I said such a "failure" would not compensate for the work to learn Occlumency and the user used a "wish" to achieve Occlumency so he should already have a "barrier" even if it is weak, and the occlumency "barrier" was created specifically to withstand direct attacks on the mind and something as weak as dream magic that revolves around involving the victim's mind and passively influencing a dream state that is the most as close as possible to the true "dream" that revolves around the memories the magician is looking for, he will not be able to pass through an occlumency barrier unless the magic of the dream attacks the mind directly, which would wake the victim up on the spot, basically runs counter to the whole purpose of dream magic.

"Passive" magic consumes magic even if the person is asleep or unconscious, as long as there is magic and is not interrupted directly by external sources. this is the purpose of "passive", otherwise it would be something like "semi-passive" or "active"
