I never said he was smart, never once. he didn't see it till then cause it didn't have anything to do with him, no country will boast about power of another country publicy, he never paid mind to it and carried his life as he should. only out of curiosity did he researched about it. be practical, no one goes out of the way to learn different things until they benefit you, you don't know things until they directly or indirectly affect you

My point more of was that for a guy who got reincarnated he was very narrowminded. He knew nothing about the world other than cannon but never tried to learn anything. Also this isn't something you'd have to be smart to do. Also I'm pretty sure he'd pick up on the differences over the years not just suddenly find out about it at 12. That whole thing would have been fine if you added it in an earlier chapter or implied he knew about it from an early age, but now the mc just looks like he has less than average intelligence. But that should have been considered when I started reading a wish fulfillment fanfic.
