One of the best Vampire stories I read, both here and in paperback. Really, most here and online are rather ... cliche. Thankfully, the author here cleverly uses the cliches to lower your guard and then smack you for underestimating her. Really, the most common cliche in these romance novels are how the MF is very cunning and powerful ... but doesn't hold a candle next to the ML.
I won't be ashamed to admit it, but I thought the exact same thing would happen in this novel as the ML effortlessly manages to perform a complex spell but then a few chapters later, the FL, Anna, accomplishes one that is even harder and more esoteric, surprising the ML when he finds out. Using cliches like this actually creates a better atmosphere and I applaud the author for doing so.
The characters and settings are also very intriguing. I am curious about just how this reincarnation curse truly works, and if Anna actually traveled between worlds during every reincarnation ... or just through time periods of one world. It's a fascinating mystery that I look forward to be revealed. Then there's the ML, I have an inkling he might somehow be connected to Anna's past through a mutual character that was introduced in the very first chapter, but once again, it remains to be seen. And from this paragraph, you should be able to tell that I'm curious as f**k about the story, that's how compelling it is.
Now, grammar. Honestly, there are some misspellings and whatnot, but I mean, c'mon, who doesn't have those? I won't be docking any points for that cause I barely noticed them.
If you managed to read through all of that above and survived, I salute you. As for those who didn't, read this hidden gem. Period.
.... I mean, not that kind of period ... ungh, get your head outta the gutter. I meant period period. The full stop kind. Sheesh, kids these days ...
