well, read more of both ML and FL novels, there will be gems everywhere. You just have to find them.

As a male reader I don't like when every female lead story has to have romance or hidden romance. Why can't they make a bad are female lead?

my problem is with female mc xianxia is that it is so hard to find one that isn't getting constantly saved by the ML. Like I swear the ml just has danger sense for her and teleports to her side.

Don't know about genderbender but female lead is quite good in a different way.

Gender Bender is a unique genre that obly a few people (including me) are able to enjoy. So I get why you would not be interested in that. But not liking FL stuff in general is kinda stupid I guess. Although the majority of it is romance, you can find other compelling stuff in it.

I never said I didn't like gender bender. This doesn't mean I hate em, I'm just indifferent to them.

well i can understand the whole gender difference thing being off putting since as a man i prefer more action whereas most novels with female mcs focus heavily on romance with everything else basically being the cherry on top, and most male mc novels focus on a good amount of face slapping and bragging which just gets annoying after a time. and the wrecking ball known as the harem tag gets randomly thrown in completely ruining a story as well. but overall i’d prefer to read a novel with multiple face slaps every chapter rather than a novel with action ounce every 4 chapters.
