You're not at the part yet, but the mcs unique powers progress way faster than his actual rank could allow for or would need to, at chapter 400 ish, SPOILER he's at about the strength of a high deme rank or weakened Astra rank, despite still being 'stuck' at rei rank, I think it's a normal progression for his type of character as his power which undoubtedly makes him a godly entity in the future and his rank, or its backbone have to evolve proportionately for the story and mkre
