Being a fan of the games myself, I was surprised to find that this is the only OC insert that I have come accross. There are plenty of anime/manga/LN oc inserts even if they are unfinished (for the majority), game inserts however are a something of a rarity to even find yet alone a decent story. I will give a word of warning that if you are coming into this cold, without atleast some basic knowledge of the background then don’t complain. This story may seem like it breaks both ethics and morals with part of the subject matter, but it doesn’t matter as It has already been discussed or written in the games and licensed content. The limited edition of Reach even comes with Halsey’s note book, therefore if you want to blame someone then blame the original development team and author. There is media out there that is actually worse content wise, so don’t be an ass and give a bad review for it. This is surprisingly well written all things considered even allowing for the occasional spelling or grammar error, I have seen and written worse myself so I than happy to read this as it stands. The characters that have been inserted don’t feel two dimensional and actually interact properly, this is an uncommon thing that has been getting better with oc inserts. All in all as a fan I recommend this book happily, and hope the author continues unlike so many others.
