I really liked the name of this novel and totally judged it by it's cool cover, like I'm supposed to. Writing quality is also surprisingly good: finding a cultivation novel that's not a complete moron shitshow is getting harder and harder, so no armies of arrogant punchbags for main character to feel smug about himself. The novel has an original take on protagonist vs heaven theme, which is also it's biggest weakness – the way heaven affects characters is really inconsistent and not clearly defined. I'm still not sure what the rules are and can't wait for the main character to eventually meet his demise by a heavy piano or an anvil falling over his head. This concept also attributes everything to heaven, so there's no real enemies except it and the whole story feels like a constant fight with one enemy and basically no place for any sidequests.

Thanks for the good review. As for the inconsistent Heaven: Each Heaven of every world is their own entity with their own personality. It's not some "ruleset" that always strictly adheres to the rules. There are some rules that it SHOULD follow, but doesn't. Basically, you can't "learn" how Heaven acts since Heaven could be considered as just another person. It has plans, chages them for others when it gets a better one or sees that it's current one isn't working, and similar stuff. You could say it's a powerful guy that wants to kill or stop Gravis without being allowed to directly kill him.

I guess I get it? Anyway, you are really good writer, so I hope you keep doing that. I feel if I have to read another mass produced chinese crap only to drop it after 500 chapters of plot holes, I'm gonna flip out!
