wtf , I totally loved this story it's not a horror story , Though expertly uses horror elements for plot mc's cheat is highly calibrated , far from op it's honestly feels so good to see it work , dopamine blast🤯 All Hail Bigg Boss Ding Dong!!!! mc ends up cozing up with spirits but becoming paranoid of normal people lol and it's perfectly reasonable (this honestly feels like some kind of social commentary, but I definitely can't relate to it , definitely can't 🥺) and another thing I like is that this story is up-to-date with the current times , filled with subtle social commentary and messages (none of that nationalism , don't worry)

Humans fear spirits but spirits should fear him. Spoilers. For real (Insert Ryuji). The novel was supposedly horror/thriller but I’d say its more like supernatural + horror-aspected comedy. Under the analogous department, the spirits have been on the decline for many years. But recently, more spirits have appeared, more openly... The world has many kinds of spirits apparently. They are born from dying and absorbing Yin Qi if I recall correctly. Evil spirits are called ghosts while good ones are called spirits. Its dumb but deal with it. And apparently there are entities called evil anomalies and evil thoughts. It talks about them a little I think but I still don’t understand what’s they are. I know a little but I won’t go THAT far in detail. That’s one of the problems I have, the author doesn’t do a lot of explaining. Only the bare basics and you’ll have to infer the other stuff like I did. We might learn more in-depth in the future since it hints that but why couldn’t we learn it now.... ;( The world also has cultivators but we know almost nothing about them yet. They seem to be weak in front of what our MC is capable of though. Our MC, Zhou Cai, is a regular, single, poor, university student that has the special ability to gain abilities from getting hit by spirits. You want to burn me? Freeze me? Trap me? Do it! He’s not afraid. The stronger the spirit, the stronger the ability he gets as he continues to get hit. His personality is pretty normal like a regular Chinese MC. Sometimes shameless and sometimes self-oriented but pretty normal. His IQ and decision making is also normal. By normal I don’t mean boring or average but he acts realistically, most of the time. MOST of the time. There are a few decisions that I kind of disagreed with but I could accept the reasoning behind it. Companion? The leopard girl who is an anomaly is pretty needy to start off with which I disliked. But since it wasn’t as serious of a novel as I expected and she was useful with her knowledge, I accepted her because that is the law of equivalent exchange. She seems to be an innocent little girl/leopard that is a glutton and can be a little manipulative. She also seems to be hiding a lot. Many mysteries around her. As for other characters, they don’t really matter yet. Well, they matter but they’re not important enough to change your decision if you should read if you got to know them. And if you need to know, no young masters/arrogant pricks and I don’t see any romance potential yet.

It has really interesting concept but alas it's ruined by nationalism shit at 200-300 and later. Man i am really tired of some bullshit chinese superior nationalism. At the end of the day i suggest if you want then you can go up to 100 later it starts going downhill.

i dont see a point in translating a dropped book. time investment just isnt worth it for reader and for translator. webnovel needs to stop picking dropped books.

Mc is very interesting, he is neither good or bad, he just cares about himself, and doesnt put himself out there like some justic hero. He just seeks benefits for himself and just strives to improve and get more powers.

This novel has great cheat with little bit of character development it should become great. But here comes problem there indeed is development but just mc becomes more and more retarded. As its cn novel it's must nationalism(except some rare one) like some random thai magician dude attacks mc for no reason and china is the great shit(just tired of this shit) can't they just let author make good novel. I am fine with some patriotism but when one cross line and it become nationalism that's indication it's time to leave.
