WQ - decent 3 update stability - im neutral 3 SD - other than the very unlikable MC the rest of the story flows well . CHARACTER DESIGN - đ the MC is a whinny beta male, w/ the typical lack of brain cell & basic "real" human emotions such as selfishness. the typical loser lucky enough to get power & develo** a "righteous" backbone the typical archetype most of the beta males seem to enjoy WORLD BACKGROUND - 4/5 as a fan of the manhwa this is based off !

Why is the MC so unlikable? I do plan to develop his character and I donât quite remember the part where he was a self-righteous loser. We are literally about 23 chapters in and you expect a perfect character without flaws at all. When has he had the chance to be selfish? I donât really remember so please tell me in which chapters I wrote some parts of him wrong. I would like an explanation with reason and evidence if you please.
Read random chapter. Looks like ****. MC apparently causes his sister to fall into a coma. Somehow the system( I assume) knows that he has to get certain int stat to unlock something thatll somehow cure her. Sh*tty plot device only causes frustration. The he goes on and self blames and then tries to act all reckless. This is the exact type of crap you see in a bad novel with weak beta Mc. Not expecting perfect character with no flaws. Just MC whoâs at least strong(if not op) who can think rationally without letting emotions or anything else get the better of them. Anything else means trashy novel unless done right so it doesnât cause frustration to reader.(which is really hard apparently cuz 99% of beta Mc novels are trash, 1% is author with godly writing skills and can somehow pull it off)

âRead a random chapter.â - âapparently the Mc is **** because he caused his sister to go into a comaâ - so youâre telling me that this guy did not even know that Yuukiâs parents entered a Red Gate in front of him? Also, the self-blame and other stuff are all because of mental health but I guess you would remain stone cold and would kill your own mother for a hotdog or some ****.

Because he might lose his only family member. Also he is illogically blaming himself as he has MILD depression. This means that he shows not very much symptoms, only 3 or 4. If you knew that his parents stepped into a Red Gate, then you would know that he watched them step into right before it turned from Blue into Red. Do some research on depression and let me know whether or not youâve had it before, itâs possible that you have because itâs one of the widest spread mental health issues, not that you mightâve had it for a long time, just for a little while. Yuukiâs self blame may be be seen as a Beta Mc but apparently Beta Mcâs have to be mentally stable, not like Yuuki.

Bruh, novels are not reality. Theyâre meant for entertainment or escape from it. Thatâs why no one wants to read a depressed MC cuz then they get reminded of depression they have irl. Basically we all (mostly) want our MC to be (or change into) the ideal character we want to be, and based on what Iâve seen so far, your character wouldnât fit for what many people would want to be like. I suggest developing his character towards something like sun jin woo. Cuz the original really did well changing his personality from the weak struggling D rank into the cold shadow monarch without much of an outwards personality.
