The MCs cheat is a system, one of its perks at the lowest level is .05 Chinese renminbi per breath taken. Converting the cheat into real numbers that, unless the author is a f’cking idiot, should be accurate. .05Y/$ per breath taken. 17,000-30,000 breaths per day, resting or light walking. Moderate exercise for an hour, 50,000, multiple hours, 50-78,000. 17K=850Y/$, 30K=1,500Y/$. 50K=2,500Y/$. 78K=3,900Y/$. A relatively cheap restaurant experience, ie a chipotle burrito or a hamburger from chili’s, would be 20Y-40Y in China, while it’d be roughly 15-20$ in America. Even the lowest amount is 850Y/Day. 3 meals means it’s 790 a day. Basic utilities for a 1000sqft apartment, 400-500Y, Internet is another 100Y. 600Y. That means in one day he has paid a months utilities and food plus 190Y extra. Even in the city center the nice apartments are only 4,000Y, so in 4-5Days, eating out every meal, he has his months rent. 6 days max he has the apartment, Internet, utilities covered perfectly, make it 7 days for mobile phone and the months transportation expenses. With the rest of the money he can buy branded Nike shoes or leather business shoes, every day. New jeans and a T-shirt every day if he doesn’t get shoes. New sports jacket every day without shoes or other clothes. New kitchen appliances etc etc. this is with the LOWEST breath level. The absolute lowest. You are basically set for life to never work again, near unlimited new clothing, unlimited purchasing of anything really, all the games, all the mobile purchases, anything. Heck, just throw this money into stocks at random and you’ll eventually have so much money the rest of the system just does matter. Let’s put it like this, easily get 1,500Y per day, that’s 187 per hour. In America, let’s go that the buying power is half. So imagine making at minimum 93.75$ an hour, in an hour day. That’s 45,000$ a month. 540,000$ per year. You could literally buy ANYTHING you want.

Oops, accidentally hit 4 instead of 1. Thats 15,000 per month, which makes it 180,000 per year. Still. That’s f’cking plenty.

He says that in the novel if you read it. 'Once he buys everything he wants right now he's set for life and will never have to worry about money' he basically says, so the author did take that into account and chose that number on purpose, in the future he's probably going to need billions for purchases of companies and stuff so it's a lot but not a ridiculous ridiculous amount, depends on his aspirations though

Author did the math wrong, which is the creative liberties we should afford such authors, but it still seems wrong to me. If you read the available chapters you’ll see it says him earning 1Y per breath to earn what he should’ve been earning with .10 per breath. The author is over 10x off at the best of times with his math.

I don't think money is really important here, the guy always has exactly enough for what he needs be it a phone, air conditioner or a watch. But yh I skimmed over the math since you can kinda just work out/insinuate 'oh he's making this much' since it says how much he makes a day each time he levels up which is like 5 times in 20 chapters so it's constantly changing. Dunno if it's author or translator who's **** at maths but if it was author I think the translator should have fixed it or just left a T/N saying he knows it's wrong but won't change author's original maths

Firstly, this level 1 of the system. Level 2 = 93$ every 30 minutes. Level 3 = 93$ every 15 minutes. Level 4 =93$ every 7.5 minutes. Level 5 = 93$ every 3.75 minutes. Level 6 only require him to spend 1,000,000$. That wouldn’t take long to do even if he never invests a dime. Even if level 7 takes 10M, and Level 8 100M, he’s making 93$ every .93 minutes. This is with no investments or any income other than breathing. Nothing else.

Way too long-winded of a review for covering only a single point of the story. You can do basic arithmetic (I guess, no way I'm reading all that mess), whoopee.

It’s the main point of the story. Don’t ready it, please jump in front of a train.

I'll jump in front of a train right after you french-kiss a moving bus. Scout's honor: you first, then I'll follow.

How long did it take you to calculate all that? :[

You aren’t dumb, or maybe you are, idk you, but it’s just a simple math trick that works for big round numbers. 17x5=85 > how many zeros in 17,000? 3? Add zeros to 85, now 85,000. What’s the cents earned? .05? Where’s the decimal point? 5 hundredths? Take out the tenths and hundredths, so ones and tens, and bam. 850 is what you’re left with. Takes 10-15 seconds max. Even easier to solve for rounder numbers like 30,000.

You are bad at math as well. 1 USD is ~7 RMB, so you have to divide by 7 to get USD, not by 2

Leylin_Farlier
Leylin_FarlierLv13Leylin_Farlier

But the respective buying power of the RMB is roughly equal to that of the USD with a varied experience of about 2. So if he earns 100RMB a day you can imagine it as an American earning 50USD per day.

Where did you heard that? Computers, DSLR's, iPhones, and so on - are more expensive in mainland China, comparing to the USA. I've been in both countries and can make a judgement. Local products are cheaper, but you can buy Chinese goods everywhere in the world. And I believe that the price for the good meat in the first and second tier cities is comparable to USA too

Well obviously there are differences. I mean milk is much more expensive in china than milk in America. Its not exact science, but if you had 20$ in America you’d get a good meal, if had 20-40rmb you’d have a good meal in china. R

These days I won't dare to eat in too cheap places in China. Too many of them use second hand recycled oil. If I have a short trip (for 1-2 days) to the unknown place, I would rather eat salads in McDonald's and KFC, or eat something like hotpot or grill. And still, anyways, buying power doesn't apply to the food only, you still can't but Samsung, Sony or Apple products any cheaper than worldwide
