I really enjoyed the first volume but the Long Chen got introduced and I slowly lost interest he is the most cliche one dimensional character I've come across. Then the 3rd volume is unbearably slow to get started. Disappointed it was really promising but after volume one there was a lot of filler that did little to nothing for the story.

long chen's whole character trait is to be hypocritical, 1- dimensional and flawed. long chen encompasses the annoying traits of the mc's in wuxia novels nowadays, The author tries to call out sheer pretence of such mc's and i think that it is a refreshing idea. I got to admit tho the third volume was too slow and even i have dropped it a couple of times, but i urge you to push through and keep reading cuz the later chapters only get better and imo the current arc is mind blowingly good and the best novel has to offer so far
