That’s alittle harsh but understandable. Most anime’s have the same character concepts. I think it is just a genre thing. They could definitely make the female lead stronger emotionally and physically and still have the same effect though.

I’ve been reading the reviews and comments people leave on here and I’m genuinely shocked that no one seems to have a problem with the fact that the female lead was kidnapped, forced into a polyamorous relationship and later developed Stockholm syndrome. I’m all for fantasy literature but I can’t stand to read all these comments talking about how “great/sweet” characters like Curtis are when in reality he is highly controlling and actually forced himself on Qingqing. I guarantee that if Curtis were some fat, balding, old creep people wouldn’t be “shipping” him with anyone. I just hope young readers, particularly young girls, don’t read this comic/novel and think that being treated like this in a relationship is acceptable because it absolutely isn’t.

I think you have a point but I think the readers also like how she's this innocent girl in this confusing world, sorta making it work. As for the main guy I don't know, he can be sweet but he annoys me a bit. I like the snake guy more
