I’ve read til chapter 35. Everything’s ok so far except: • I don’t like Gu Jinchen’s character because he married Shen Youran’s sister and had a child with her even though he promise Shen Youran that she’s the only one for him and that he’ll marry her after she graduates. LIAR! Maybe he had a reason for doing that to her but he basically betrayed her and I hate those kinds of people. So I just don’t like him. He’s a jerk. • I also don’t like Ji Jinchuan’s character (but since he’s the ML I might change my mind about him if he shows that he deserves Shen Youran) because even though he’s not a player, he’ll take anyone for three months to relieve his ‘needs’. I’m a little ‘ehhhh’ with that because I’ve seen people who stayed virgin for their whole lives so I don’t think he’s an exception. Plus, the way he treats Shen Youran so far makes me think that he doesn’t deserve her. Again, I might change my mind about him so I’ll see. • I extremely dislike Old Master Shen’s character because even though he expected Shen Youran to be a boy, he doesn’t have to treat her so badly. It’s not her fault that she came out as a girl and not a boy. 😒 • I feel conflicted about Shen Shuan’s (FL’s sister) character because she’s nice and all that to Shen Youran, however, I just feel that she’s very fake (for some reason). I might be just overthinking things though. • I don’t like Shen Yaoting’s character either. He’s a bad father. Period. (I know I’m criticizing almost all the main characters but that shit’s coming from my heart ❤️) Thanks for reading this. I couldn’t live well without saying this.

No nasty step mom or step-sister. FL older sister is actually married to her ex-bf.. the reason is still a mystery but does not look like her sister is nasty. She slept with the ML for her own reasons (which was also unknown).. so no rape there.. it’s an interesting story that is slowly unfolding. I hope they pick it up.

So far pretty good. The characters all seem to have brains and personalities - meaning that they do not display random character traits and behaviours at odds with everything we've learnt about them so far. The FL is mistreated, but in a believable way - it's more accurate to say that rather than being actively mistreated she was just neglected by her family (except her mother). I haven't fully formed by opinion on her sister - I really hope that she exceeds by expectations and didn't "snatch" our FL's love away from her but was rather compelled by social/family circumstances to marry him. The whole thing is a mystery and I really hope the author has a satisfying conclusion to it. The ML... at this point is still fairly blank, but at least he owns up to his own behaviour rather than pretending to be something he's not: he admits that he is cold, cruel and that his relationships with women are not for love. The FL goes into it also knowing this. He also hasn't been magically won over by the FL's pitiful situation in a matter of days, which is nice. So far, this is looking promising. If it can continue developing in this manner it will be a decent, readable story.
