If you are looking for a novel to read try Plague Doctor in the trial read. Its a genuinely good novel with no young master face slapping Bs. With good plot progression and actual character's with depth to them. And a lot of mystery.

LIKEThe novel at this point does not have any fights however judging from the development of tbe 60 chapters there may be some soon. The synopsis of the novel doesn't explain anything so heres the short version of it. The novel is based on System/Mystery/Horror. The novels main character is a final year university medical student. In my opinion one of the best parts of the novel is the pacing. You can feel everything develop mainly the plot, theres also actual character development ( and the development isn't as in 60 cuapters in you know wverything about everyone). It peels away the shroud of mystery one by one only to leave maybe 4 or 6 in its wake. The novel has some mentions of creatures/myths from H.P Lovecraft. The novel in the first 60 chapters is about seeing things which would normally be kept under wraps and seeing the hidden side of the world one wouldn't expect to have existed. The novels system is not something absurd as clicking a button and becoming a god, the system also requires him to practice and be dedicated to a certain degree also the system has not fully been unlocked yet only 1 part of it. If anything I'd suggest giving the free 40 chapters a read that way you can formulate your own opinion and see what the novel is truly about and if its for you.
One last question how good interesting is the system in this story, I get it from your explanation that it's not op but does it give him benefits like material or practical? I'm more interested in reading the novel from your description but got to say the no combat is a hurdle. I'll give it a try, I have nothing much to read since the last batch was so bad.
So far its both material and practical but no completely instantaneous in a sense that if he gets a skill of some kind it won't instantly be perfect as that depends on his practice/usage of said skill.
