Trash! The author doesn't know anything about the game of thrones. Firstly MC/SI wants to so-called change the world. But somehow doesn't have the ambition to becomes king! WTF? Apparently you also want him to be free from responsibilities of so-called kingship but then you make him a Kingsguard? Lol! You basically bound his freedom to someone else FOR LIVE. At least while he's king he would be able to do more sh*it then protect someones else ass. Look at Robert he was sh*it king only whoring and drinking and still had his so-called freedom!

He can quit the kingsguard whenever he wants.

You are wrong! They swore a vow. It'd be like a member of the Night's Watch deserting. I guess the King could release a KG from his vows. However once again your life isn't your own own.

The mc doesn't really care, I mean, who can stop him? Name one person that would have a reason and ill admit I'm wrong.

Yeah, maybe no one can 'stop' him. However, everyone then will know that he betrayed the king and the crown therefore he would be an oathbreaker.

Yeah, ok, but again, why should he care? He won't betray the current king and I dont think anyone would mind if he left joffrey. I know he'd be breaking his oath but honestly being a kinsguard cant really hold him down.

Yeah, basically there's no point in me talking to you. You just don't understand game of thrones or medieval times in general. It isn't modern times where you can just leave without any or with minor consequences. Anyway bye as I can see you aren't thinking but trying to defend yourself at all cost.

Yeah sure, I don't understand the lore, but again, give me a reason why the mc would care? He has no loyalty towards joffrey and the current king will die soon. The insults towards,my person are exaggerated and uncalled for. I am being civilized and you are being pretentious and rabid in your own defense. You say the main character is bound, I say he can leave whenever he wants. You say he would be an oathbreaker if he left, I say why would he care. You call me ignorant, unintelligent and willing to say anything in defense of my own argument and again I say why would the main character care. You show all the same signs of people like flat earthers, you spout off about facts and your own expertise while demeaning others to your be your lessers, you talk of knoledge and facts yet you cant answer a simple question, why. Would. He. Care. Who can stop him if he wishes to leave? Who can stop a witcher?

Man, you did not make one argument other than why would he care, and then when Ganshunter explained it, you just repeated the question! Then you get mad he doesn't want to keep telling it to you like a child that keeps asking why to every explanation? Oaths were serious sh*t back in medieval times. Basically, a man was only as good as his word! If he was labelled 'Oathbreaker', it would sh*t all over his reputation and shred any credibility he would have as a Noble. People would find it hard to trust him and alliances and deals would be suspect. Now, if he was just an average hedge knight that wandered around looking for work, this would probably not affect him too much as people would still be looking for grunts to put on the front line during wars. But this fool is the Crown Prince! The future King! By joining the Kingsguard he is giving up his ENTIRE claim to any Lordship or royalty that he would otherwise be entitled to, that's why Tywin was so pissed Jamie did it! It is a position that is taken by 3rd sons for the honour since they will never inherit and it is better than being a hedge knight. It is the same as joining the wall by taking the black! Even if he 'breaks his oath' he is still not going to be recognised as having any claim to either Baratheon or Lannister Lordship unless everyone else is dead and they are scraping the bottom of the barrel. What Ganshunter is saying, is that there was literally no reason to join the Kingsguard. He could have just unofficially joined them if he wanted to train with them or be close to the King. By taking the oath, he has given up everything for ZERO gain, it would have been so scandalous that even peasants would have been talking about it! What you are saying is correct, no one could stop him if he decided to give it up. But the entire Westeros Nobility would think him a knave and would look down upon him like he was trash. This may mean nothing for the MC, but he would never be able to rub elbows with the nobility again without a severe cut to his charisma. If MC wants to change the world, he would now have lost his most powerful position to actually do something. And I believe it was only you that threw around insults, Ganshunter answered your childish why, why, why three times and you still didn't take anything on board. "Anyway bye as I can see you aren't thinking but trying to defend yourself at all cost." This was the so-called insult you got so worked up about. Have another read of the comments and then decide who was actually being rude and insulting intelligence levels...
