I don’t get why the author would write such a good novel and ruin it with his personality. I mean 3 chapters straight about how the Americans are lazy and men being more skilled than women, i wish he would just say china is the best and get on with the story.

LIKESince we are here ... in which chapter does super humans or people with super powers appear? I'm in chapter 15 and I haven't seen them yet.
Slrrrp:At least you didn't give it 1 star, but i personally like the story and if you continue this book you actually won't see much of china being great other than occasional mentions about food
Probably in 300+. The very first super human being that i can remember is jason from friday the 13th and freddy kruger? But those things barely affected the plot. They were also easily clapped by mc

Ok, so this is a novel that sells lies. I'll have it just to watch it when I don't have any novels to read or just want a change of scenery.

lmao that's what i was thinking too, but i guess the author didn't want them to be part of the main plot so he made luke tell shield to contain them since they are immortal/resurrection plot armor. there are plot holes here and there but maybe this whole arc was just a side story? idk

I mean... honestly the description of America in this novel seems pretty spot on from my standpoint as a nonAmerican. Just saying, its not just Chinese Nationalism, a good bit of this is genuinely how the rest of us see Americans. Lazy, fat, constantly eating and shooting each other? Thats like 10/10 how most of the word sees America, as a land of violence, guns, and greasy food. The sexism is 100% awful, but im numb to it by this point, and the time period of this taking place is when America still expected the woman to cook so the conversations honestly dont feel forced to me, it kinda feels like the characters just live in that time period still. Doesn’t make it acceptable, but still, its not as jarring and has consistency at least.
