Why oh why do so many of these Chinese FL novels go from rape to instant love? Regardless of whatever “fluff” comes later, the ML raped the FL. Period. Then she reincarnates and immediately begins fawning over him bc she know knows that he raped and imprisoned her out of “true love”, as demonstrated by him lavishing her with clothing and vacations during her bird-in-a-cage previous life. This sudden change of mind is due to her discovery that her previous crush actually was working with her best friend to manipulate and backstab her. *sigh* Hoping for more novels where the ML chases the girl using techniques other than rape and imprisonment. (I recognize that some of these novels take a turn for the better later on, but the beginnings tend to turn me off the entire novel even when I try to push through)

I read a part where the ml said the way " the way to awoman's heart is trough her body" after raping the fl and he even talked about how he should have conquered(rape)her earlier bc she was acting more obedient. I almost vomited at dat one. The fl seems to have also been struck by Stockholm syndrome after reincarnating. Its like the author tried to recreate another perfect secret love but worse

I really wonder hw this book is getting positive reviews though. After reading that part I just stopped and removed it from my library. There was no sense of remorse for his actions he kept justifying it. Plus the fl is so annoying. "He would never hurt me" but yet he kept hurting u. The time it even took for her to stop hating him was so unrealistic. I would think she would ave been scared of him be4 actually loving him. She excuses all the ml actions by saying he loves her. I get it the ml is a yandere but yanderes are only enjoyable to me with a strong fl. The fl is just too weak in either lifeline

Hm, that’s a good question. I’m not sure either, I guess it’s up to individual preference? I tend to prefer more fluffy or slice of life novels, but considering how many of these types of novels are being published, there must be an audience for it. I guess some people are able to separate/not take the dark parts as seriously?

Yep :( Warriorwoman actually describes one of the worst lines in the novel in a comment below. My memory’s a bit fuzzy so this may be off, but basically the FL reincarnates just after the ML raped her. Now that she suddenly becomes lovey-dovey (due to the rebirth), the ML has a “revelation” and realizes that the way to a woman’s heart really is through her body, and that if he had known she would suddenly change, he should have done the deed earlier.
JeyanForever:So it actually has rape? Thank God I’ve read your review. I actually loathed these kind of novels. As long as it’s forced, it’s rape and when it’s rape, the people involved are victim and criminal. It’s not a very comfortable read for me. Btw, even if it gets better.
you are absolutely right.... I really get turned off because of these kind of novels... I mean I just hate those male-leads like that who act all possessive without any consideration of other people feelings. I feel like killing them and teach that they don't have any right to control other people's lives....
