Stupid is a really strong word, are you sure you didn't make a mistake because people can make mistakes without being stupid in case you didn't know. If I made him truly infallible, that would truly make for a boring story considering my poor writing skills... Thanks for giving it a shot, not sure what nerf you're talking about though, he will continue to grow his power as the story goes on.

To further elaborate and correct your misconceptions, you should realize that for certain individuals it doesn't do them any good to know certain things, it provides them with nothing, it's of no interest, it doesn't affect them in any way, and only clutters the mind with something that does nothing for them.... so yes it's useless knowledge to have.
