This novel is an interesting and original take on the post-apocalyptic/sci-fi genre, starring an intellectual MC that can actually use his noggin. The story takes place during the 22nd century when aliens arrived and distributed a bracelet with a system called the Oracle to every human and animal. This system isn't like the generic systems in every other xianxia novel that does everything for the MC, but is more like an aid that points him in the right direction. This novel also has a quest-like concept called Ordeals, reminiscent of the scenarios in The Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, where a lot of people carry out a dangerous challenge for rewards. Oh yea, the entire Earth practically gets deconstructed and absorbed into another planet. As of chapter 218, there is no major character development for the MC besides the "training arc" — if you will — during the first volume. However, it is still early on in the novel so I'm sure there is going to be plenty coming either once the love interest plays her part, or a major incident occurs. The writing pace starts off slow with the beginning chapters having a lot of info dumps, but they're necessary in order to get the full idea of what is to come. Don't worry though as it picks up speed once you get past the first volume (ends with chp. 32). The quality of writing is top notch with little to no grammatical errors, so you can rest assured that your immersion is not going to be train wrecked by atrocious grammar that makes you wonder how the actual f*ck it got past the editing process. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to readers who want a break from the generic Chinese webnovel formula, or to those who just want to read a genuinely good piece of work.
