The first chapter is well-written, I have no issue with the sentence structure and grammar, hence, the full score under Writing Quality. The plot though is pretty common where the MC grew up in a broken family and so did not bother with his education, got into the wrong crowd and all that stuff. I agree on the end, he really is an idiot. Anyway, for a first story, this was good.

Hi! I genuinely appreciate your feedback. I had some plans to prevent the plot from becoming overly generic later on, but you're definitely right. In hindsight, I'm not too happy with the first few chapters, either. Knowing that the writing quality didn't ruin the reading experience for you gives me some confidence, though. I was worried about that. I'll try again in the future - this time with a more fleshed-out story.
