Honestly, this novel is impressively fantastic from the start until I dropped it. It manages to build upon a character that appears to be dull and bland, literally the "Incarnation of Death and Destruction!" In addition, the author foreshadows key details in the selection of his companions alongside his path to power based upon their will. Plus the unique development of each character's power, personality, attitude, mindset, and more while still keeping the focus on the main character. Something many novels attempt and fail by either over-extending or anything that takes away the main point-of-view from the main character. Surprisingly, everyone gets a chance to shine with their individual character getting flushed out just enough and correctly. While the author seems quite dry with cultivation and technique naming, it doesn't damper the hype in any way. In fact, it plays nicely with the main character who truly could care less for the name of his moves but more about the effectiveness. Allowing the reader to be able to easily track: cultivation levels and barriers, techniques, movesets, races, and bloodlines. And truly anything that is constantly being evaluated in the story. Leaving only how long a cultivator lifespan is kinda a toss-up upon speculation; which you just learn to assume a very long time. But the world-building is truly special as it mixes races, worlds, and planes seemingly, allowing the reader to remember when key players become relevant. Also explaining how everything that the main character and his companions are experiencing and facing came to fruition. Yet, I ultimately love the incredible titles that the author gives different characters to highlight and separate them from the lot. However, the issue that I began to have was the excessive amount of contradiction the Zatiel started to show. In the beginning, he made it blatantly clear that right or wrong was merely a concept, as the only individuals capable of deciding were the ones with strength\power. Yet, later he dedicates himself and his race to being rulers and of justice to the universe, which makes no sense as injustice will continue to happen due to the weak being dominated by the strong. The same logic he told as the laws of the universe. Next is his personality change that just started to become even rather dry. Although I love character development I feel as if maybe he should have become somewhat similar or worse than the incarnation of destruction and death. As his bloodline and powers already vastly surpass those of his previous, especially his mind power that would literally spread death and destruction across the universe. I also dislike how many of his companions are beginning to become irrelevant which now defeats the purpose of building them up. Thus now Zatiel has to gather outside help instead of sticking to his trusted ones. However, ultimately I will say this novel is a must-read, and despite its few flaws that are hardly noticeable you'll find yourself glued to this novel. Sadly, it leaves me craving more of the incarnation of death and destruction from the small snip that we saw. Or even the declaration that he used to be him as reincarnation isn't something new in this novel and since they already have his identity nailed down between a few people.
