I got to about chapter 20. It felt like the MC wasn’t even a main character in the story. I don’t know anything about the MC’s personality because he doesn’t even have one. It just didn’t feel like he did anything for any reason other than he was told to. The pacing was also really fast. It didn’t make it unreadable, but it just made it so that details were completely glossed over. I think there were about 2 enemies in the game up to level 20. The game was also extremely lackluster. It just lacked details and works building. Things were just there, and everyone loved the game, but it was only because of how realistic it was. The game had absolutely nothing else going for it from my perspective. Another thing that bothered me was when he had to make the promotional video. He did it in one try, and he was the main actor. It was also in first person, but he was able to get all of the best shots while fighting in some battle in first person...so he is apparently an amazing actor, fighter, and cameraman. It just really bothered me that it took about 5 paragraphs to create an absolutely amazing promotional video. I might be nitpicking with that one. It just felt like more of an outline for a novel than an actual novel. I liked the ideas, but the execution was a huge disappointment. It also said something about the MC getting stronger from the Soul Coins, and then it wasn’t addressed, that may have been later in the book but I just didn’t like reading about a new person every third chapter and their experience in the game rather than the story about the MC.

This so much. Compared to Players of the Underworld, this book is sorely lacking. Everything feels like it’s on fast forward and skipping all the details. We’re getting a cliff notes versions of events so far.
