Compared to the 'First' novel, this novel's quality is lower..... It seems to me that this is just added flavor after the end of the king's avatar novel. What I expect when I saw the novel is a 'real' prequel..... Of course what I expect to see is when Ye Xiu decided to run from home to play games to meeting Su siblings then to their rise in glory and then the creation of esports of glory then to the creation of team excellent era of course with Tao Xuan, Manager Cui, Ye Xiu, Su Mu Qiu (from a group of people from a computer shop to pro team) and Wu Xuefeng and to Su Mu Qiu's death and then to Ye Xiu's resolve to win championship for them.... This is what a prequel is (IMO) and not a how-they-meet-up and time-skips of fight.... Also because of the many time skips, there are many feelings and emotions that aren't portrayed just like how Butterfly Blue portrayed the feelings and emotions of the players in the middle of the novel...... It felt that this novel is kinda rushed, just like the ending of the novel of origin.... I'm really disappointed given the hype of this new novel after the ending of the mother novel.... *sigh~~ But still, all in all, I will still continue to read this since my score has nothing to do with the fact that I WANT MORE OF KING'S AVATAR!! And the enjoyment I got is still higher than what my score suggests.... What my score meant is my disappointment in my rant above.. ༼☯﹏☯༽

Butterfly Blue originally wrote this prequel back around 2015, and this translation has been my pet project for over two years now – I was translating this for a while before I began translating the novel officially. Unlike the main novel translation, which was worked on by a team, the prequel translation is entirely my own individual work, and I take deep pride in it. I am honored to now be able to bring the prequel to you in an official capacity. I have a lot of emotions about the prequel – about the characters, some new and some familiar but in a new context; about the stories that we now get to witness personally, instead of hearing about secondhand; about the additional insight we gain into this world of esports. There is a lot of good content here, and I hope that you enjoy this as much as I have. As of now, there are 21 chapters (that make up 7 “parts”) published on the official Chinese Qidian site.
