I have been enjoying this novel. The plot is pretty good, and the main character isn't brainless, and instead makes intelligent decisions. The writing itself is pretty good, though there is the occasional grammatical error, overall it is written well. The story isn't to slow, and proceeds at a good pace. I would recommend reading this novel.

If you had to fight someone, and you could either choose from a knife or a gun, which would you choose? I would guess that you would most likely use the gun. It is the same concept here. Even if he had already gotten training for the bow, it doesn't change the fact that the bow is simply weaker than his magic in almost every way. Him choosing to try and learn a new, more powerful fighting style over using the same one is exactly what makes it the inteligent decision. And with not killing the assassin, (spoilers ahead) the only thing making her a threat were her weapons. So once he beat her and took her weapons, she was no longer a threat. But because she was dangerous when she still had the weapons she severely injured him. So instead of killimg her and having to take on every one alone, he spared her, using her to protect himself. Him containing any potential anger that he may have had towards her for trying to kill him, and instead using her for his own benefit is an inteligent decision. While Derik will occasionally make an error of judgement and make the wrong choice, nobody is perfect, and a novel would be boring if the main character never made a mistake, as that is what makes them human.

Lol, his archery is weak? Who do you think would win between professional shooter with gun and a boxer in an open ground? Olympic should make it a sport then, a sniper in one end and a boxer in the place of his target. World best boxer should be able to punch a guy from hundreds of meters, right? And why not expose the whole world he is a demon, to get hunted by church by showing his wolf magic. And if without magic weapon the girl can't kill her, then why would he need the help of a useless trash? Don't need to say spoiler, one with half a brain can guess he will not kill the girl, hell a stupid beta horny MC like him will never kill a girl, even if she cause death of innocent life. But he won't have problems with killing male assassin or enemy. I am sure of it, don't need to read this trash to know it. People with no brain can jerk off to plot hole thinking its author's as.s hole.

Another idiotic fan boy protecting trash author. He practiced bronze combat techniques for archers and still uses fists. What kind of idiotic mc does this, he can easily win these fight if he had a brain. He could have used his archery to wear down the enemy.
