Hello All!
Thank you for reading my book! Seeing the trend here, I thought I might share with you my thoughts on the novel as well :D
Thought I’ll be shameless and do abit of self-promotion here :X
Writing Quality: Well, I wouldn’t say my writing is fantastic and the grammars are perfect. I have written fan fictions for as long as I can remember, but usually there are in third person style. For my very first light novel where I can actually control the setting, background and character, I wanted to write in first person for once – it just felt more personal for me. It’s a pretty big change for me! I really do sincerely apologies for any mistakes you might find, after all I am an novice writer.
Stability of the Update: It actually depends on my schedule. If you notice, my chapters are actually pretty long as compared to other webnovels who update frequently, ranging from 1k – 2k words per chapter. I could break it down into smaller chapters, but I felt the break too jarring for the story to ‘flow’ nicely. I would really love to update every day, but if I am unable to, I’ll aim for 5 updates per week.
Story Development: Well, my story is going to develop slowly. The romance here will be a slow burn. The first few chapters perhaps until our two MCs got married would be focused more on the characters background, fleshing out their characters, and some foreshadowing. I want my readers to understand my characters, to sympathize with them, and to somehow get to know them so well you could almost predict what they would do. I could start the novel off with when they got married and charge straight into the juicy bits, the romance, intrigues and plots, but as I wrote the first draft, it just didn’t felt right to me. I understand to some it might be ‘boring’ but I really do hope you do stay around and give this novel a chance.
Character Development: Ah well, I didn’t want to spoil the entire story. But I must say that the female lead is pretty black-bellied and ones of her strengths is being able to adapt to a situation if she truly puts her heart to it. She’s starts of pretty weak-willed, erratic, and carefree, but as the story goes on and she’s thrown into various circumstances that challenges her morals, she changes as well and puts her entire heart and soul into the adapting to the life as a true royal.
The male lead is cunning and black bellied off bat, since he was young he was taught in a certain way. He is almost like a ‘machine’ that doesn’t put any emotions into anything if it was for the sake of the royal family. But as he gets closer to the female lead, he finds out that there is more to life. Slowly but surely he changes.
World Background: Ah, this is set in a fictional world whereby a monarchy still existed in modern day Korea. Think of it of like Great Britain, or other countries with constitutional monarchy still existing today! I also wanted to explore the culture of Korea in my novel, seeing that I am obsessed with their country. I hope you enjoy learning about Korean culture with me in this novel as well! <3
Once again, thank you so much for giving my novel a chance! Writing is my passion. I started writing years ago, as a means of escape from an abusive partner. It empowered me and allowed me to escape, even if it just momentarily, into a fictional world where I had control over.
I also want to add, yes, this is a love story! It’s a story about betrayal, forgiveness, redemption, and whether the love could truly conquer all in a face of extreme wealth, fame and power.
Thank you for reading this lengthy ramble of mine, have a great day! I do hope you give my novel a chance and continue reading! <3
Xoxo,
Dollfie
