Review Detail of Chibi_Senpai in A New Chance

Honestly despite the rating and reviews, I decided to give this novel a chance. Foolish me for giving the novel the benefit of the doubt. The start was kinda okay, a mysterious mc who was downtrodden in his past life reincarnates and decided he’ll do all he can to never feel weak again. Okay, that’s fine. The character has been set, motivations are there. Powers are given with the rule that he can never love anybody or they die. You know, normal Zeref tingzzzz. It seems the author decided to backtrack on the initial premise. Next thing you know he’s enamored with Tsunade as a child and adopts her as a younger sister. It’s creepy and cringe but I looked past it. You could see slowly the author trying to change the mc from a villain to a hero or at least someone with empathy. But it was so cringe and hypocritical. The mc does the worst things but has the gall to condemn people for maltreating a child. He’s committed genocides. His demons committed mass genocide, he has no moral high ground. The author ****ed up by bringing morality, love and empathy into this story because it still follows the storyline with a few minor changes. Nonstop and kushina die. Uchiha massacre happens and sasuke defects. A lot of bull**** happens and it’s not really important. My issue with this novel is with the hypocrisy and inconsistency of the protagonist and his personality. He’s a murderer, next thing he loves children, but he causes the deaths of many children, but he cares for naruto, he made naruto an orphan. It’s all stupid and inconsistent. Now if the mc said he did this all for his entertainment I’d get it. If he acknowledged he’s an evil guy who does fxcked up things because he enjoys it, it would be fine. But this asshole thinks he’s some savior of ninjakind by causing a war and killing millions. He became the main villain out of some misguided attempt to achieve peace. Some knockoff Lelouch ****. It’s dumb. He even starts preaching about peace at the end of the arc after causing so much death and destruction. He feels accomplished like he’s actually achieved everlasting peace when eventually there’s going to be war down the line. It’s inevitable, future generations will forget him and start fighting again. I think he even resurrects everyone, completely undoing everything and wasting my fucking time. Ughh this novel irritated my soul. The mc is a hypocrite who’s so biased and blind to his hypocrisy I can only surmise he’s gonna keep doing fxcked up shxt thinking he’s a god hero emperor.
