Review Detail of Azunyan in Sword Among Us

Let me preface this by saying that this in my opinion above the level of junkfood, but not at sushi level and definitely not at wagyu beef level (for now). I really don't think that this is special in some way as it is the tried and true time travel and video game story. I find the MC to be pretty enjoyable as he hasn't been a complete ass hole from the start even though he seeks revenge in a certain sense. He thinks with long term benefits and he isn't ridiculously OP from the start. Characters are very lackluster though. The side character roommates rarely show up and they are typical to say the least. NPC characters which I would hope have more personality seem more like NPCs which isn't bad, but it kinda sucks. I think my biggest problem is this question: Why not make the genre a wuxia or xianxia mix instead of making it a video game one? To me, it seems as if replacing the scenes with IRL with more in game stuff would be just fine as IRL doesn't seem to matter much anyways.

I'm not sure if you wanted two sushi and three wagyu, but I'll try. If you want a better review on the novels I recommend, just ask. I'm also going to recommend some stuff that is relatively less known except for the junkfood cuz junkfood isn't sustainable. I've ended up dropping all the junkfood ones I was reading so that's that. One sushi is A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality. Biggest problem for me was pacing in that one. Started off really slow iirc and it would always slow down before a conflict happened making that stuff kind of obvious. Another Sushi is Perfect World. Having a child MC for a lot of the novel was pretty entertaining. He was kind of endearing, but as the novel goes on, he gets kinda iffy for likability. Now for Wagyus. Monarch of Evernight is a must. Problem is slow beginning, but somehow the author writes in a way making most details stick with you so you remember then later on and it makes it amazingly fun to read. Also side characters are properly given a character rather than just being a role. Another Wagyu is 108 maidens of destiny AKA harem done right. MC is likeable and the respective harem ladies are given time so that you can tell them apart based on conversation and such. I left it to build up chapters so I'm not sure on the quality as of now though. Last wagyu is Everlasting Immortal Firmament. This one is like the twin brother to Reverend Insanity as the scheming is amazing. All the recommended novels have cultivation in them. Also, they can all be found outside of webnovel so no SS required. Have fun reading.

All the Wagyu I’m so exited to read. The record to an immortal journey is eeehhhh I never could find the interest and perfect world I read 300 and then the “world” became to complex and the parents characters were complete idiots. Especially the reason of abandonment and them completely forgetting they had a son. Anyways thanks I never picked monarch of evernight cuz it’s not a “Harem” even tho 2 of my top 3 are non harem. It’s just harem is intresting.

I'm assuming you meant summary by sub. EIF, Everlasting immortal firmament, follows the journey of Gu Hai the mc. He is already an old man and seeking for ways to become an immortal (cultivator). The kingdom is embroiled in a war and sects of cultivators have taken vested interest in the results of the war. Gu Hai is a merchant, but not just any merchant. He is the richest one in the area of the seven or so kingdoms. Any more details might be spoilers. For me, just the first twenty chaps got me hooked. If you don't like it from the first twenty, I recommend just moving on.

ok one novel that is similar is Reverend Insanity. The schemes are similar, but not exactly the same. Their characters are pretty different too. ** look for Reverend on sites that don't require SS. But Reverend has a power system that undermines cultivation in a way so I'm not sure if you would like it. Normally in cultivation stuff, your cultivation base and other factors determine your strenght, but in RI, the combination of Gu that you can use as well as your creativity make up your strength to a much larger extent in comparison to other cultivation novels. Also no harem in sight

I have mixed feelings about the novels from the author of Monarch of Evenight, Yanyu Jiangnan. Sometimes I feels that the author is trying too hard for the "Epic Novel" feel that the writing becomes needlessly tedious to read. There are times when I'm so wowed that I'm on the hype train and can't stop reading. But there are also times that I felt that I'm being forced fed too much cake/pizza that I feel like puking even though it tastes great 😵 I want to eat great food with a variety of flavours, not just cloyingly sweet or fine dining all the time. Other authors I have similar mixed feelings on: Mao Ni, Fang Xiang and Er Gen.

Wagyu: Cultivation Chat Group, by far the highest quality (writing quality) novel on webnovel.com. It's a cultivation comedy that is incredibly funny and stays funny even after 900 chapters. This novel is very different on many levels from the average novel. The main character is an average guy who has a strange form of luck that leads him to be accidentally added to a chat group full of cultivators. At first he just treats them as a group gone too far in their chuuni world but eventually finds out that they are real and he starts his cultivation journey too. The novel follows the character every day and the novel seems to be very slow but if you look at his cultivation progress than it's not that slow. Some people say there is not enough fighting, there are not that many fights but I hardly notice it as much as some ;-), but I say in return you get a novel without the useless face slapping, almost all of the characters are unique even the cannon fodder, the humor is on another level (some jokes are prepared several chapters in advance without noticing it, jokes are well timed and I never have the feeling that the joke could have been funnier). The author really has an almost godly ability to time the jokes well, making even the mediocre jokes funnier than they really are. The only slightly negative is that the humor sometimes requires some background knowledge on the usual storylines in cultivation novels to make the joke even better. Seeking death is a major thing and the mc is the unconsciously seeking death type but there are also enough characters who use other forms of death seeking. And if there is a pattern than it is that good luck for the mc is always accompanied by bad luck. Sushi: The Elementalist (same author as this novel). Pretty good VRMMORPG novel, well thought out game world and mechanics. The big problem is that the mc has problems with his emotions, something that has been dripping through in this novel too, and specifically his emotions are binary... they are either full on or off but never in between. Always shocked stupid and than the next alinea he is suddenly calm and makes the right decisions. It seems to be more part of the writing style than translation skills and that makes it only more annoying. Daily life of the Immortal King, another cultivation comedy but not as good as CCG. The humor is often not on the same level but there are plenty of good jokes. The main problem is that the MC was already on the 3000 Dao VIP list from birth and at 16 years old he is the strongest being in the 10 universes. The mc is so over powered that there are no threats to him at all and it is very difficult to get an exciting story with such an mc, and it shows. I applaud the author for at least being able to write a somewhat interesting story with a lot of humor with such an mc but is also means it will not become wagyu later on. Junk food: I stopped reading them but the one that was sort of readable was Super Gene. World building is pretty well thought out but again an annoying mc whose personality is very different from every other character in the novel and the difference is so big it is annoying but the story is pretty good. Another one that is readable is Empress Gigalo (I'm sure I made an error in this name). Unique setting but a lot is ruined by the mc who is a bit too fake, so much so that the first 200 / 300 chapters you feel sorry for the empress for being stuck with a gold digging pretty boy (btw the pretty boy is the mc and the story is written from his perspective).

Nice review! I personally rate the novel a little bit higher, a solid sushi ;-), but your point is well argued and that is what I look for in a review. If I had to make a guess to answer your question than I would say it is either because the writer specializes in VRMMORPG or that the xianxia influences irl comes later (there are only 30 chapters) but I think the first option is more likely. If you want to read a novel that has cultivation irl and in game then read Mysticalal Realm. The mc is called Izroth and is a cultivator who transmigrated to a normal gaming nerd who died. The pacing of the story could be a lot better but aside from that it is pretty good.

Please recommend a sushi or a wagyu level magical realism novel

Azunyan
AzunyanLv6Azunyan

The two Wagyu magical realism novels I recommend are "Pet King" and "Trafford's Trade Club". Pet King is about a pet shop owner that gains access to a game that allows the capture of mythical pets called elfins that can only be seen by people who own the game. Trafford's Trade Club is about a young man who becomes the new owner of a trade club. However, the trade club is like a devil's trading area as anything can be taken as money including but not limited to souls, body parts, emotions, etc. Now at cavier sushi level are "Gourmet food supplier" and "The record of unusual creatures" and "Strange life of a cat". And there are two which are at a lower sushi level. "Godfather of champions" and "The monk that wanted to renounce asceticism". What makes the difference between lower sushi and those above it is the readability of the novel. The ones above lower sushi level are readable at all times. Those placed on lower sushi can be repetitive or feel like it is repeating itself at times. By the way, this novel is at higher junkfood tier after reading some more. Not sure what you consider magical realism, but I consider magical realism to be any novel with supernatural happenings that are not involving cultivation, martial arts, video games as the main focus.
