Very flat story, mc, world building, storytelling. The beginning chapters are so boring they being too short is actually good thing. It's the high rating that makes me started reading this novel, and so with high expectation this novel has become a disappointment. The lack of details in world building made me wondered, is this the author's counter action from reading too many Chinese novels' info-dumping, or the author felt just typical generic setting is enough. On the other hand, the info about skills are very frustrating to read. There are too many skills to remember, and because the story lacks meat and bone (Actual progression, character depth), I can't endure and decide to drop. All of these being said, I recognize and appreciate both the author's effort and his courage to publish his work. I think rewriting is required if the author wants to write a good story.

when all said and done. the power system of MC is a bit unique in this novel. Mastering all elements, even those that oppose eachother. master all weapons is a fun concept. I agree on all what you say except you only said cons. not the pros. dude the author is not an official full timer she/he is learning. He cant be George RR martin in his first novel can he? infact all xianxia rpg authors are like this they are not trained yet they show so much potential.
I think at the time I wrote the review, after a string of bad novels I was quite pissed off with Qidian's quality. So after seeing such high raitings and priases for this one, the actual story disappinted me so much I wrote a harsh review. But whether I only said about con and not pro, I truly have no idea. I forget everything about this novel, not a single detail stayed with me (If not for your comment, there's a chance I will read this story again while browsing around cuz of the high rating. Thank you!). Based on my review though, I felt my main point is that the story needs a rewrite.

The starting chapters are mostly info dumping and MC getting stronger but at chapter 100(no exact idea when) he goes and joins the lightning brigade(something along those lines) and that’s when the story takes of and it starts snowballing and just keeps getting better, rn it’s peaking and he as moved on to new worlds(kind of) I recommend just plowing threw the info dump chaps until you get to the story(the chapters gets longer later)

the greater the hope the greater the disappointed when failed. understandable. But this novel had a really bad picture when i started to read this novel because. Its said to have Virtual reality. I dont like VR novels because MC is weak in real life. even a gun can kill him. But This novel sends his soul to a differant world. Instead of just playing a game. Even then I would've dropped this novel half way if Author didn't make him jack of all trades... i have a thing for that.
