The story is overall really good, but the reading experience is heavily gutted by the random Ant short stories in-between chapters. When I'm binge reading a novel, and I'm really immersed, the last thing I want is some silly author comment or complete sidetrack that brings me out of the story, and currently that's all the Ant stories serves to do. If anyone finds it hard to understand or relate to what I mean, perhaps this example will help you; Let's imagine you're in the movie theater watching a new movie for the first time, like Avengers Endgame. You're really immersed in the movie and completely enthralled, when suddenly, in the middle of a climactic moment the movie pauses and it shows the cast being interviewed by an ant in a really silly mood for about 5 minutes, and then after that it goes back to the epic conclusion of the scene you were watching. If this happened you'd be COMPLETELY pulled out of the story, and even if you didn't mind the premise of the sidetracking, you'd still have to immerse yourself again, and the suspension would be gone from the original moment. Now imagine that, but throughout the movies duration this happens multiple times, seemingly at random. It would take you out of the story in an instant each time, and this is what I believe the ant stories do. Please Author, go back and remove them, they really mess with any flow and momentum the story has, and it's such a joy kill. For me the current reading experience suffers so much from these sidetracks that it's a 2/5 for me, instead of a 5/5, and it's such a simple fix.

OMG You almost gave me a heart attack when I read 2 stars because of Ant in my inbox, I quickly raced over to check and let out a huge sigh of relief when I saw you didn't actually put that! Thank you for not doing that!š I completely get your point. With the Ant skits, it's either a hit or a miss. You either really like them or not at all š ...At the start I was also concerned with a continuity issue as well but did speak to my editor before adding them in and she was like put them on, so I did. I can understand it's very different when you're binge-ing, it feels disruptive compared to the readers who got them at the time of release getting a regular chap that day + plus a little side story for more to read if they wanted. I know that some people despise them and most just skip them SO I've actually decided to END IT after the last one (Which came out after like after 100 chapters or so, they get REALLY spaced out later on)... BUT following your complaint, I actually went and combined the earlier ones to reduce the interruption, bringing them down from 12 to a total of 8 episodes and I've also put short warnings at the end of the chap before each episode so it's easy to skip them...As for the chapter commentary, I only did that a handful of times, three times in the earlier chapters (Maybe I'll just delete those as well? š¤ ) I just want you to know that I really do listen to every complaint, reflect on them and do my best to mediate the situation. I can't delete them because some people have enjoyed them and still do, I've literally had people come on Discord just because of the Ant and others asking me when's the next episode. So for the sake of those people I don't want to fully delete them, but in respect for people who don't care for them (the majority of readers I believe), I have made them sparse, put up warnings and I have now ended them with now just 8 episodes, no more. So I hope this is a somewhat happy medium...I always personally released them with regular chapters, so it was never just an Ant side story release on any day, so no one complained when it was starting up as it was just an extra release for the day. As I said I completely understand that it's very different when binge-reading. I personally usually skip side stories when I'm binge-ing so I truly do understand your issues of flow and continuity which is why I've toned and toned them down to now, it's just gone. I hope I have been able to relieve some of your concerns and again, thank you so much for not actually giving me a 2 star rating because of the ANT. I am very glad that you have enjoyed the story so far and I hope you continue to enjoy the journey as you read along~ Thank you so much for reading! š¤š¤
I didn't feel it fair for the ant stories to actually impact the rating, since I assumed the reasons behind them was the same as what you just wrote, and I also knew that they wouldn't feel disruptive when released after the latest chapter. To go back to the Marvel movie analogy, no one dislikes the after credit scenes in those movies because they don't disrupt and are overall a benefit to the experience, which I felt was much the same with yours. I only wrote the review the way I did in the hopes of bringing to your attention how it impacts new readers that are catching up to the story, and from your reply I feel that you very much understand that and am addressing it in the best way possible for all sides. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to the critique that I had, everything else is truly great, and I'm really enjoying the story overall :)

Hello!! Hi!! I read your review in regards to the ant chap! To be super honest with you, Iām one of the people on discord who bothers the author about the ant chaps. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. hahaha I know itās weird and stuff, but they make it fun for me. I read ALLL the ant chaps and keep bothering author for more. I did think about the problems it might cause for the other readers who probably donāt enjoy them as much as I do... but I just cant help myself š³š³š³š³ I apologize for the interruptions you experience in the binge reading!!!
