It's so wrong of you to have a novel that could be so much better held back by grammar issues. The story is there, the character is there, but the last of the big three THE GRAMMAR is no where to be found. I can get past the dialogue issue, but you just can't throw commas at a run-on and expect that to solve it. It has gotten to the point that I'm wondering if you read over what you write. At one point in the Novel you even call the MC a young woman (specifically ch.35). I've tried pretty hard to read this novel, but the mistakes are too glaring to let slide. Even when I skimmed through I was noticing mistakes. Without an editor I feel I'm being pretty lenient giving it this score. If you are serious about this novel you should really consider working with someone to fix the mistakes.

Boohoo an authors first novel on an app where anyone can upload a story has bad grammar :( if you feel so strongly u could consider maybe English isn’t his first language, and that he probably isn’t too worried about his grammar, it’s just a story he is having fun with, it’s not his profession

How is being incompetent in the language he's writing his story in ok? Just because he's not a professional or native speaker doesn't mean he shouldn't be critiqued for serious errors. I don't read these novels looking for exceptional grammar just passable grammar and an interesting story. Even if he's just doing this for fun he should want to improve. Not being a native speaker, not a professional, just a hobby, first novel, these are all just excuses for mistakes. I understand you want to defend his novel but I'm not the type of person to be ok with mediocre. I don't know what the boohoo was for when unlike most reviewers I was being honest with him on what needs to be improved. Should I have just wrote 5 stars "good novel lololololol 140140140140140"?

Never said he shouldn’t be critiqued, was just making fun of your critique. “Even if he’s doing this for fun he should want to” lol he should want to because you want him to? He doesn’t have to. It’s a non professional novel by somebody who has zero obligations to do anything. You only consider the reasons I gave excuses because you think he has an obligation improve his grammar. My core problem with your review is that instead of just moving on and removing it from your library because his lack of grammar knowledge irked you, you instead chose to lower the rating of the novel simply to complain about something he has no reason to change. Though on another note I guess you could save other people’s time that don’t like imperfect grammar.

I don't understand your reasoning. He has bad grammar, I said he should improve his grammar, you make fun of my review because? I gave a lower rating than other people? I gave that rating because that's what I think he deserved. Your core problem is not only idiotic, it doesn't make sense. Like a lot of people I thought it was a good novel but unlike those people the grammar was too big of an issue to me. It wasn't his grammar knowledge that irked me it was not seeing progress to fix it. I felt that the novel warranted a review, if I thought it didn't I wouldn't have even left anything like you said. It's funny you make fun of someone who would seriously want him to improve. I didn't write a troll review nor did I give that low of a rating so what's your problem? How is seeing promise in a novel and telling him the problems bad? You keep bringing up that he's not a professional and he doesn't have an obligation and I never disagreed. That doesn't make what I said wrong. He SHOULD want to improve and I DO think it's a shame that I can't enjoy his novel.

Made fun of your review because you’re complaining about something that he won’t change just because you complained about and something he doesn’t need to. And once again, “he SHOULD want to improve” why?

Idk if they paywalled it back when you wrote this but... If they paywall it I think it is mandatory they try and improve their product... just saying.

I agree if it's behind a paywall(meaning we have to pay to read the novel) even more so it's perfectly natural we as the consumers would want a quality good.

I would say because it went premium. From what I saw the premium chapters have some sort of editing/improvement from the first premium chapter I unlocked just to see however the free chapters have not been edited to the same quality. If it's what I think it is where the premium chapters are of a higher quality then I think it's a real shame that the free chapters have not been edited to the same quality as the premium ones are and thus are portraying the novel in a bad light. If the grammar was fixed then I could totally get behind spending SS on this novel however before then I would prefer to wait and hope it does get edited and tidied up a bit.

the author has poor grammar, and he will naturally give a low rating. After all, for this, they came up with reviews. What is the problem?

I think you should critique but not to the point of extreme discouragement and yes an author should always strive to improve

PayDay
PayDayLv14PayDay

I wouldn't know if they are even discouraged seeing as the author didn't even bother to comment, also I wouldn't consider this discouraging. I think we both know that I could've written spam like trash trash trash... I didn't even rate it badly so idk what you mean.

Honestly the grammar is cancer.. doesnt the author understand that this can turn away viewers? For fun yet he made it premium?

Hi

I suspect the author probably writes everything in his own language (Spanish) and then machine translates it before moving it over to Inkstone. That would explain grammatical mistakes since Spanish have gendered words. If only he would take his time to proofread afterwards before publishing his chapters.

I mean I get it but seriously we both know it wasn't even looked over.

How is the grammar now? I have been wanting to read this for a while now but reviews saying grammar is bad are holding me back.
