I've read this novel until the end although i skip some chapters and this novel is a true definition of crap. Well, i should not say this but after reading this novel, my view of the world turned upside down (in negative way). The characters of this novel is full venomous people. Almost all the female characters are bitches while the males are jerk. Their train of though are not logical and too wishy washy. Start from ML, his parents and supporting characters. This novel depicts a situation in which blood relationship doesn't mean much compared to personal ambition. I believe that a good novel does not need such complicated and dramatic story but this novel does and it reduces the value of this novel's story. Despite the good writing, the plot of this novel was too dramatic. Moreover, the story was repetitive to the point it was too boring to read. If you are a masochist, you can read this novel. Tbh, i force myself to read the novel till the end despite the fact that i really loath the story progression. I finished this novel only for the sake of review but still, i hope i would never read this novel. ML in this novel is truly a jerk, the most jerk among jerks from novels that i've ever read. Well, i thought ML from bumpy road was a true and absolute jerk but compared to the ML of this novel, he was just a 'common' jerk. I can say that he's the epitome of inhuman being after what he had done to the FL. The FL will faceslap the ML around chapter 540 when they fought for custody of the child because ML found the existence of the child while he was diagnosed infertile. The FL will still end up with ML. Tbh, i do not know what to feel. Usually, i feel happy when FL and ML end up being together but this novel doesn't bring me such satisfaction. The only thing that i appreciate from the writer is her writing style. Aside that, there's no other.

Its the same storyline where ML forced himself on the FL despite not being in love with her and later in life realises that she was the same little girl whom he had adored in the past but has mistaken her real identity due to the fact that the jade amulet gifted by him had been snatched away from her. If only the FL had been given the slightest opportunity to clarify things instead of being condemned outright for all the uncalled for offences alleged against her things wouldn't have turned out this way...

I can only say that please stop adding these novels in " romantic " category, I just dont understand why even translator chose this novel, no offence maybe some readers have heavy taste. But a least add them in a different category maybe "horror" This is my sincere opinion cauz I love reading webonel romance novels and I just dont want to stain the word romantic because of theses book!! With the preview alone, one can conclude that the FL suffered so much in the hands of the ML before he came to realize she was the girl he adored before.. I think I’ll end up hating the ML if I’ll read this.. I really wanted to read a novel with male leads like Mo Ting and Lu Tingxiao who never in any way maltreated their woman but they doted on them as their most precious.. I hope translators will find a novel like those 😉

Dont mind my rant, just have to get this off my chest....Everyone read the synopsis, everyone knew what the story was going to be about, and everyone still voted for this. If you cant handle dog blood tragedies, please dont bother reading them and complaining afterwards because you expected something different. There's a niche in the light novel world for rich, abusive, a$$holes, excuse me ML's, and people love beating this dead horse. (Sorry for the apology, horse/animal lovers). Rant end, thank you. Personally I read the spoilers and it doesnt look like he's going to redeem himself very quickly so I'm going to put this on the back burner. I'll probably come back to visit this story when I feel like i want a good cry.

If you're not masochistic and don't like angst, then please don't read this. Coz its loaded. Among all the trashy Male Leads I've read about, this guy definitely takes first place. He's ruthless and dumb enough to fall in love with the wrong person. He tortures her for a really long time (rape, humiliation, actual physical assault, and some more) and then when he FINALLY realizes he likes her, he decides to tie her down to him in the most cruel way (the infamous court scene)... there's not a single likable character in this novel... the main character who's biggest weakness, her love for the Male lead, destroys her. She's too soft. The heartless Male lead. The downright insane mother who prefers a step daughter over her own flesh and blood (seriously, li weiyang would've killed to have her as a step mother). And the step father who's extremely selfish and allows an innocent life to be destroyed just to pacify his own daughter. And of course the step sister who's immediately in 2nd place, after mother and Male lead, in the list of most disgusting and vile characters who is selfish and vain to the point that in her opinion only her life matters, and someone like her step sister doesn't deserve to have even a second of happiness. I haven't actually read the novel, but reading the first few chapters and the spoilers for the book, has given me a good idea of what the story is like.
