READ IF YOU DARE... but also I dare you to read it. Mmmm....what to say about this novel: COULD. NOT. PUT. IT. DOWN. I am a SUCKER for a FL with with wit, intelligence and strong common sense. Zhi Ruo is exactly the kind of female lead I’ve constantly tried and failed to find in every novel I read. There are one or two that came close, but I have to say, I think ZR is it for me. She driven, she’s hilarious, she caring and doting towards her loved ones and ruthless to those who go against her. Her very character will always have the last word and it’s very satisfying to read her get snarkier and at the same time dorkier with every page turned. Her independence and strength doesn’t seem forced or fake. It’s not polarizing to just her profession life, but also extends to her personal life. Fierce and in control in both aspects. This is one of those novels where I would still be as hooked and addicted even if the romance factor was taken out of it. I would genuinely be perfectly content to read how all the other characters in the book manage to find themselves totally captivated and in worship of her. The story may seem like just another transmigration story but ZR wins out all of my attention and affectionately. My only hope is that the author stays consistent with her personality throughout the whole story. I would hate to be called a liar based off of my heavy praise for the “female lead”. Please take all my stones, coins, first born you name it! Just keep weaving out this quality story. I’m all caught up now and I don’t know what to do with myself.
