hello, erm what to say. im actually on chapter 181 after spending the whole day on this novel and well, i read some of the reviews on here and they aint lying about some of the things happening in this story. well, first of all, i wouldn't say that this story has a lot of misunderstanding when it was more like a noncommunication issue. maybe misunderstanding because both FL and ML don't fucking talk about their fucking problems. for readers who haven't read this novel yet, let me just brief you on the short summary. The story is about FL and ML who met in high school, which was set 5 years from the current timeline of the novel. poor FL chased after rich heir ML desperately and they dated for a bit where they both caught feelings. the story always emphasizes how ML would treat FL differently than the rest but FL, for all the outspokenness and her snarky attitudes towards others, she would appear pretty meek, low self esteem, and afraid of ML. There are certainly a lot of flashbacks in the novel about how FL and ML met and fell in love five years ago but their relationship ended when FL decided to dump ML after they graduated high school. Now, here's where the story gets interesting aka "arbitrarily prolonged" by the author. FL and ML don't talk about what happened five years ago even though they seem to remember every details of their high school years. BUT THEY DON'T TALK ABOUT IT. you would then wonder if they choose to avoid the elephant in the room, then how would they get passed the unresolved conflicts in their hearts and become a happy married couple? And you would be right to think that, no they don't. 200 chapters in and ML still felt the resonance from the break up. he finds it difficult to trust FL for he doesn't know why FL would just dump him out of the blue. 200 chapters in, FL finds it difficult to bring up the past because she doesn't wanna appear weak or pitiful in front of ML. But idk when she'd realized that she needs support because she can't shoulder her burdens alone. FL is one of those protagonists that doesn't like to lean on others, so she hides the fact that she's being manipulated by her own family because of the adoptive mother who's diagnosed with alzheimer's. She hides a lot of things from ML, and ML for being a powerful conglomerate doesn't deem it necessary to look into the past. He wants FL to tell him why she dumped him face to face. But at the same time, he finds that he could no longer trust her as he did before because he was still reigning from the past breakup. He's afraid that she would leave him once more so he gets all these mood swings. and everytime one of those moodswings occurs, FL would scramble for her life from being afraid of him, but there's not much that she could do since she's doing everything she could for her adoptive mother who raised her. this story (and review) would have been a lot shorter had the two leads decided to talk to each other and resolve the problem together, but they choose to hold in their tangled emotions and thoughts and torture themselves. Their non-communication creates a gap in their relationship that allows outsiders to manipulate their interactions with eachother and creates for a more complicated affairs. Anyways, both FL and ML love each other the whole time, but isn't effective in the way they work together to resolve conflicts, that's why the story's so long with so many webs of lies and turmoil. if these paragraphs sound interesting for you, then i do recommend. There are moments of sweetness in the story that makes the novel particularly attractive but i think it's time i give it up because I can't stand FL being powerless and being pushed around by her family because they got a hold of her adoptive mom. I'm more for strong female leads and so this isn't it for me. Bye
