Well, he easily give out every secret he knows. And being blackmailed by everyone(force marriage). For a schemer to be bullied easily because of his own mouth. Sheeesh!

I like the brashness of the mc challenging the summoner (king). I've always disliked the gullibility of summoned to fight for the king without question. It may lay in my innate character to challenge authority.

lol when the king summon him, he himself don't know what his power or what capabilities he have and even the simple status he doesn't know. the king is patiently and politely explaining to him but he is so arrogant. what if the king wants to kill him? he has no power so dead like his brain

The point is that if you keep reading there's an explanation as to why he chooses to be brash to the king and it was also a test to see if the king was arrogant. Also, why does he have to follow the king just because he got summoned by him?

reason for why he has to follow him? Simply because the king can kill him anytime he wants. The king is a king. He's someone with a high status so he deserves to be arrogant but he didn't do so. Instead, he patientpatiently tried to talked it with the MC. But what did that idiot mc did in return? Baah!! You said he's testing the king? seriously? Being proud is one thing but to be arrogant despite knowing you are a weak ass shit....... For me that was a moronic thing to do. If that happens in real life, not to mention the king. The guards should have long lollies that punk for being impudent in front of a royalty. So stupid. And when I say stupid, moronic etc, I am only referring about the MC. Not the author or any of you here so don't get me wrong.

I also wouldn't take it that way. Also, the king is just as arrogant as Jack in this scenario, yes Jack started it but he wanted to see what the king was made of. If you head read a little more you would've also seen that the king himself didn't want Jack to join his faction for reasons. But in the end it doesn't even matter what I say, if you don't like the novel, then you don't. You're free to have your opinion so, go you, you have an opinion.

It lay in your innate character to seek death. A smart move is at least to pretend. It's not like you know nothing about kings.
