This novel is rubbish. I'll explain why. The prologue was incredible. It was detailed and different so right away my expectations rose. It was a good start. The blurb was a bit crap but the prologue saved the day. However as usual my expectations crushed when I turned to a new chapter. It was the classic storyline of a young master who showed some skills in the beginning but as he grew older he become worse for some reason and his talents were non-existent hence his position in the family decreased and he got the classical victim treatment. Oh and there is the typical 'maid' who never left his side. His only relative is missing. Boring fyckint boring. To add to the mix he suddenly without any logic got power and he doesn't think deeply about it. He is flat character with no personality. All he thinks about is his maid, grandfather and revenge on lowly relatives who strangely keeps creating problems for a 'useless ' person. If you read enough novels you would know where this crap would be going. Don't let others deceive you. There is no difference to the other typical wuxia novels. Absolute waste.

LIKEThis would probably be a good first novel of this genre for people who haven't read anything like this but yeah, missing relative + maid + 'trash' mc just seems like a recipe for a boring story. I probably enjoyed the first one of its types that I read, but unless this one takes a complete different turn, I won't be reading it. I'll check again when it reaches 150 chapters. But if his maid has some sort of OP bloodline or Celestial body or something I'm dropping it.
hahahahah.... same here fellow Daoist. Thank god, I went through the trouble to read the reviews and found this specific one and can't agree more abt the similar story thing. Anyway, If you don't mind can you suggest some good ones?
Itd be funny if the aurthor just killed off the maid just to spite you lol
That would be amazing! If he kills the maid I will surely read this. The storyline I hate the most is when the maid is alive, kidnapped/taken to a sect because of pure yin body or something, the ones who take her tell mc he isnt worthy of her, then mc spends 200+ chapters trying to get her back. TBH I just hate most novels where one of the heroines gets kidnapped and it doesn't get resolved in a few chapters.
True, and that is how romance/harem ruined a good novel.
Tbh, I really enjoy novels with at least some sort of romance, but I hate it when it's main purpose is to drive the story onwards. Also harems invite unnecessary drama, and I feel as if some part of character development is sacrificed in the making which is why I usually drop those stories. Though I do love when these things are done right and they def. improve the reading experience. Also I honestly can't remember if there was ever a novel where mc starts with a maid that was done right (that I really enjoyed). All I know is that I dropped more than 5 that started that way...
You"ll probably enjoy paradise of demonic gods then, truly amazing and has no romance whatsoever. The same can be said about the story with all the gu, don't remember the name. Loved both MCs and stories. Pretty sure you might of already read them though since they're popular
It is annoying that these guys don't bother finding out what is in the market on the genre. As it is, the next 200 chapters or so are easy to predict just going by the introductory elements!
That would be refreshing! If they could do that, and add on the plot point of their missing parent being some devil cultivator that was secretly killed by the clan because they used to eat babies or something, the story would be golden!
did the fiance with her clan wishing to break off the engagement pop up yet? I feel this should be included so that the readers can rip their hair off wondering why the MC is so set on a far-away dish while their maid with the Divine-level veins is slaving away.
I do too but when it comes to Wuxia novels I loath the very idea because I can just see the endless series of minions and bosses hating the MC because of the beauty by his side. To say nothing of the disciple-kidnapping higher cultivation-base master who drags them off for the MC to find later on. That sort of nonsense just makes me skip to a few chapters past their latest power-up because because.
