It's not really. Isekai means transported to a new world and that doesn't necessarily mean something like a medieval magic land like most anime tend to show nowadays.

hah, talk about isekai, if you don't want to get any of the typical, trashy isekai novel, then I recommend few of a really good one here (it on royalroad though) The Voyager: Remastered (just check the review, and you will get a full picture Until Death? (Refleshed Version) (if you don't know this series, then I really recommend reading it, it is well done, especially the "Coeus?" and "Beyond?", and one more fact, all of them is connect to each other, and all are the same mc, just difference life) Lia and Lara will seek the One Piece (want a really good OP mc novel ?, you can check his, the only cons is he tend to not good at writing the end, at least for his old novel, but it decent anyway)
