Not always, but yeh. I read it. Being 16 and not reading romcom is like saying I'm a Eunuch.

Try Ding MI's novel, they are short and a good quality plots and story. Currently there is a finished one in Webnovel named "Our Glamorous Time". I personality recommend "When He Comes, Close Your Eyes" it is finished translated outside. When you like crime, suspense and mystery you might like that. Or help voted for "When the Snail Fall in Love" from the same author and same concept.

Maybe its because I'm not good at perspective, I could never relate to the characters in 'Our Glamourous Time', I dropped the novel after around 40 chaps. This is a biased opinion, I will probably be hated if I write that I just dislike it for no reason because of it missing something. I will try reading the other novels if I ever get back into to the romance section of novels. I read romance very rarely, but I will take the suggestion.

Try reading two of her other novels. I found them better than glorious time, and they also crime thrillers. When a snail falls in love (is already translated elsewhere before, or you can wait for webnovels translation here) and When he comes, close your eyes.

Agree. Ding Mo's novels are realy good. If you don't like Glamorous Time there is still When He Comes, Close Your Eyes,. But it is not actually a romance novel. It is more a thriller with romance.

The "When a Snail..." was still okay even though I terribly miss XuXu's brother... I understand the theme in novel was too scary perhaps or too complicated and they needed to pack everything into shorter time frame... what distubed me a bit was the little change in XuXu's character and Ji Bai was too... thin? Hehehe... The development of romance was almost neglected imo. As for "When he comes..." -- I still can't finish this drama. Again, it's something with the portrayal of the main leads. I'm not sure what exactly, it could also be me expecting too much...

There is like, 5 of them or more already on Webnovel. Isn't that just wanting too many? Actually, I always want cultivation series no matter how many there are, I take it as a fair point. Lol.

--firstly, I apologize since it's gonna be long-winded-- so according to the timeline, it should be "when a snail..." first. But "when he comes..." was first adapted to drama. Thankfully, I watched them following the novel's timeline so I wasn't too disturbed when realizing that the second male lead in "when he comes..." (Love me if you dare) actually acted as Ji Bai in "when a snail...". Honestly it took me a lot of episodes to like this version of Ji Bai (and XuXu); but listing the points here will be too much (e.g. XuXu didn't like muscular guys, but she found she didn't dislike the somehow muscular Ji Bai; the drama Ji Bai was too thin LOL). I could've liked them sooner if the producers give more care with romance so my need for fluff could've been fulfilled hahahahaah. But he was okay. Not the best, but okay (this is actually outrageous because I'm not familiar with Chinese actors and drama world, who am I to judge?). They have chemistry. Personally I'd prefer they have more episodes and everything be a bit more slow paced (the novel's time frame was obviously longer, and the drama... about three months?). Oh well, maybe they want to put suspense and thriller in prominence... so, they have similarities, but differently packed, but equally suspenseful and thrilling, I must say. It's all about taste; I still like the Ji Bai in novel more, but the drama was acceptable
