Now that the story is fully translated, I can write a complete review. The story started out really promising however the way the plot progresses really left me wanting more... I felt like I was reading a summarised version of what could have potentially been an interesting story. Halfway through I already felt disengaged w the story. I was frustrated at the way the author wrote about the MCs, they deviated and behaved increasingly out of character. Many things could have been more fleshed out. With FL’s colourful past, the author could have build on that but she didn’t. (Pls read Ding Mo’s Memory Lost for a better amnesia crime story.) It is first and foremost a romance story however the fluff is barely passable. Their chemistry is so so. The ending is cliche and abrupt...

To add on, (potential spoiler) The ending is laughable.... just like that? I honestly felt that the entire sandstorm arc is highly redundant. I rather the author didn’t use the MC almost death experience to push the wedding agenda. Author could have elaborated on their post-quarrel reconciliation in a realistic way (eg, talking things out like mature adults) and give us more fluff. Communication between the MCs is lacking. So many things could have been resolved easily through talking but their conversations always ends shortly on a bad note.
So I wasn’t the only one who was sad/disappointed that this novel that had great potential ended up as a “flop”! 😔 I agree that the beginning was super exciting but very soon the MC didn’t live up to her potential 😞 What got me really annoyed is that the synopsis implied she’s a tough girl who can “fight” but honestly speaking, there was NO fight! 😕 I thought she would be cool, smart, analytical and good with her fist...*sigh* so sad 😞
