Well, I figured since Lilith lost her element of surprise, Steven, Nathan, Jacob, and Oliver would have been more of a chance to survive and defeat her. Although I do admit I wish I had developed the training a bit more, Steven is by no means completely untrained. He knows how to wield a sword, not on par with the army, but he's far better than most civilians.
