Chinese racism never fails to cool my interest in a series. There's nothing done to change Wei Wei's bone structure, her sink is just brown. Yet, she's considered ugly with dark skin and beautiful with pale skin. Is this why skin bleaching is so popular in China? This cancerous logic can only produce self hating people and a false sense of superiority.

I have always been curious if this type of perfection really exists. To live with this type of unrealistic ideal, it must be something akin to torture

You can look up on Google how bad skin bleaching is in Asia and Africa, in fact friends and family have warned me that bleach agents are added to makeup/beauty goods without warnings on the label. So, that's how bad things are.

It’s cultural taste, in south Europe we like tanned people and consider unhealthy pale people.

TheBratQueen
TheBratQueenLv4

No it is not. It's not cultural taste that makes people bleach their skin (which causes cancer) it is media brainwashing, which this is. This is media promoting subliminally that black and dark skinned people are less beautiful, less intelligent, less capable and etc. I'm calling it out because it affects me and people who look like me. If you don't understand that, there's no need for you to comment since it clearly doesn't affect you.

In other countries (in Europe) people also go to the solariums. Why? Because they want to have their skin tanned. Solariums also increase the cause cancer. I don’t think you can talk about that, if you don’t live in China or are Chinese.

The rudeness in which you express your thoughts it’s just a proof of how poor is your argumentation. Only frail mind can’t accept themselves and look external pretext in their suffering. I hope you will lose your wroth and find peace. There is no superior skin color, just a different taste.

Did you read before you commented or did you just vomit nonsense? If it doesn't affect you, don't worry about it. People like me don't need your approval to acknowledge what hurts us.

Why do they want tanned skin? Has it ever occurred to you that you often feel hungry after seeing a food commercial? Do you think it's a coincidence? If it is why do billions of dollars go into creating media propaganda, the answer is there. Just because you want to pretend you're not aware doesn't change anything. I'm not the only one who sees this toxic behavior, I merely pointed it out because it affects me, I'm not looking for anyone else's validation. But since you asked, yes I have talked to my friends from various parts of Asia about this and they all have similar stories of being mocked for their darker skin and I have also been there to see my friend because other Korean girls said she was too black to be Korean and dirty, she cried on my shoulders for hours and I had to talk her out of skin bleaching which she had done before because this was not a one off. Now what do you have to say? This is personal to me and I do not treat this issue lightly. Please don't assume because you're unaware of an issue that it is not a problem, thank you.

Haha this thing sounds strange to me, that’s why when I read the story I avoid to remember about their skin tones. Yes, in fact this culture is fixated with having a pale and beautiful skin, but I don’t think that is mainly because of the media. Yes, they have influence but... For example, they say that if you have a darker skin, you are poor because you work under the sun... And yeah chinese people are not the only one. Unfortunately calling them “racist” is very wrong... I do not know how to clearly explain. Because, if I may have to say, Chinese people are contradictory in absurd ways, but this contradiction may be very harmonic... err, very much different from the obvious contradiction in America and the confusion in Europe. Omg hehe I got lazy...

I agree with you that the media is largely responsible for propagating their ideals on skin color, body image, and etc., and essentially brainwashing the minds of viewers into believing what’s ‘in’ and what’s ‘not’. But I also believe that it was a matter of culture for the traditional Chinese society. In the old days, media wasn’t responsible for spreading a culture’s values, it was passed on orally and institutionally through the community as stories, marriage customs, religious beliefs, spiritual beliefs, and etc. Some things are just deeply rooted in a culture’s traditions or beliefs for reasons that can probably be tracked down, but don’t make sense to later generations. Just as some cultures believe that certain colors could only be worn by people of a certain status or that using your left hand is disrespectful and can be used to curse people (it was a taboo and some were forced to become right-handed). I think that for whatever reason the Chinese became fond of clear, white skin that they always compare to jade *rolls eyes*. Who knows, maybe it started off as a way to increase the number of suitors for their marriageable daughters and they became obsessed with that image of beauty and their elders made sure to pass that down. What I don’t like is when they now use their image of beauty to define other races and look down on them. In short, I believe for them specifically it started off as a culture and expanded to their only version of beauty that has been clearly disseminated across Asia. I’m sure, if you’ve seen Kpop idols you notice they’re all made from one mold—thin with most of them having long legs. Wow, I really ranted haha. Good day ppl✌🏽.

Scars are like a taboo for them, woman specially. When they have even a small scar even if its not in the face, however there's more meaning if it is there, the woman will be incapable of marrying. Completely. It will be miracle, luck or true love if she can. And the freckles sometimes can be a symbol of evil like a birthmark of a evil star or something similar.

Yep as an Asian, when a dark coloured girl is born the whole pathetic society becomes concern about who is gonna marry her. A boy doesn't matter or care about how he looks(even if he looks like an ape) he thinks that a girl should be fair petite. It's pathetic. And media is definitely a strong reason for this prejudice or whatever this bull**** it is

Hades' Cursed Luna

In a world where Lycans and werewolves are sworn enemies, Eve Valmont is a werewolf cursed by a prophecy and framed. Betrayed by her own pack and imprisoned for years, her fate takes a darker twist when she is offered to the Lycan King, Hades Stavros—a ruler feared for his ruthless conquests and deadly prowess. Bound by an ancient prophecy and haunted by the ghosts of her past, Eve is now at the mercy of the one being she should hate and fear the most—The Hand of Death himself. Hades, a king carved from blood and his own soul's decay, determined to avenge his family's slaughter and rid his people of the werewolves. He believes Eve is the key to his victory. To him, she is nothing but weapon foretold by prophecy, a tool he will wield to destroy the opposing forces threatening his pack. Yet, he finds himself craving this powerful yet broken woman. Leaving him questioning if she is truly his weapon or the one destined to unravel his carefully laid plans. *** He stalked toward me, a predator closing in on its prey, his eyes dark and unreadable. "So, you laugh?" His voice was low, dangerously soft, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I swallowed hard, suddenly aware of how difficult it had become to breathe. "Hades, I—" "But you only laugh at other men's jokes," he interrupted, his gaze piercing, devoid of any humor. "Not your husband's." The accusation in his tone was sharp, slicing through the air between us. A nervous chuckle escaped me. "You can't be serious... He’s your beta, for Goddess’ sake." In an instant, he closed the distance between us, so fast it left me breathless. His hands gripped my waist, pulling me flush against his body, the heat of him making my skin tingle. I gasped, but before I could say a word, his lips crashed onto mine, claiming my mouth with a force that sent shockwaves through me. The kiss was punishing, hungry—I couldn't breathe, couldn't think. When he finally pulled back, I was trembling, my chest heaving as I struggled to regain my breath. His eyes, dark and stormy, searched mine with a possessive intensity. "You can’t laugh at my jokes..." he whispered, his voice a dangerous rasp as his fingers trailed lower, sending a shiver down my spine, "but you’ll come with my fingers." I shivered, heat pooling low in my belly at his words, his touch. The world around us blurred, fading into nothing as his hand slipped lower, drawing a ragged gasp from my lips. The look in his eyes told me he knew exactly what he was doing to me, and there was no denying the primal connection between us in that moment. "I don’t need your laughter," he murmured against my skin, his breath hot on my neck. "I’ll have every other part of you instead." **** Dark fantasy romance Morally Grey ML Angst Suspense ENEMIES to lovers Smut (like sprinkles on your ice cream)

The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

[Sweet, satisfying, pampering, lots of face slapping.] Zhang Caishen's era had come to an end and he could never rise again, or so they said. But why did he seem to be getting richer and more powerful even if he was now crippled and abandoned by his betrothed? Why was he suddenly so unnaturally lucky? The answer was simple; his new wife!! Lin Alix was not lucky when it came to her family. She was the older, less loved and less talented one in comparison to her younger sister who stole everything from her. But fate intervened and she got lucky when it came to a husband, not only was he wealthy but he loved to spoil her. Suggested by her infinite luck gaming system, Alix married her sister's unwanted crippled husband to be and stepped on the path of a winner in life. She swept up music awards, gained international recognition and got her revenge on her cruel family while becoming Beijing's most envious wife. "Are you crazy, you willingly married a crippled man?" her friends asked. "Yes, but have you seen how much he pampers me?" she asked in turn. "She will cheat on him, he is a cripple and he can't perform his husbandly duties." others gossiped. Alix looked at the so called crippled man who climbed into her bed night after night and laughed. Sorry, he was more than capable. "Honey, I am here to perform my husbandly duties." he would always say coquettishly when he flipped her over.
