So this novel is just as cliché as every other novel but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It starts in the typical MC has been set up by two-faced sister scenario. We meet the ML in the beginning and it is exciting. The problem with this novel is the characters. The characters do a lot of things for no reason. Her brother just instantly submits to her with minimal effort. He is also described in such a confusing way that it is hard to tell if he is an enemy or ally at the start. The way the scumbag ex-fiancé just decides that he wants her back is too random and not satisfying at all. The biggest problem for me is the MC. Nothing about her is explained. We have no idea how she can do all the things she does. How is she so strong at the beginning? Her personality is just cringey to me. And also why does this random Mu guy help her at the Medicine Hall. It just makes zero sense. This novel is definitely not worth your time. There are other much better novels with more enjoyable characters and face-slapping.

Her family trying to kill her all the time is what gets to me. And the characters been poor and the plot so confusing just means it’s getting dropped now instead of a few hundred chapters later.

My current favourite novel is Zombie Sister Strategy. It's a very funny and unique story and the MC is hilarious. That's more of an zombie apocalypse with a twist. For the classic ancient China cultivation female MC, I would go with Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss. The MC is really likable and clever and the romance is sweet but not too overpowering. Perfect Secret Love is a good modern romance where the MC is not an annoying helpless pushover. The only downside to this novel is that in later chapters you need to pay spirit stones.

Urgh. Another one of these stories. They all start the same, incredibly capable/scary woman ends up in the body of another girl in another world, then meets asshole douche 'alpha' guy and is put in her place. Apparently a woman can never be as capable as the guy in a Chinese romance. Add in him giving her a creepy pet name for added ick. (maybe it gets better but I doubt it and I'm quitting at C4)
